The spring peepers where out the other day...just a few weak sounding ones.
Then, just now, I saw a large V of cranes heading north.

Spring is on the way!

Two words: Yee Haa!
Stoker
You may well tell the cranes to slow down a bit as winter is still alive and kicking up here. We are expecting 10-20 cm of snow before the end of the day and the temperature will be a balmy -15C.

Ewwwww nastaaay

It's gonna be 70F here today. I read that the sandhills hang out in south georgia or northern florida. Maybe they had some nice weather there and decided to go home.

Sandhills are typically the earliest to migrate.

Don,

do not kill me with images like this! ;)

Was in Wisconsin last week 13F and windy! Cannot stand winter anymore.

And yes, the spring is comming. I can feel it! Some trees are flowering. Great to see it.

Spring is coming.

The only way we can tell in Florida, is when the Double Breasted Yankee Whiner flies north with his cry of , "that's not way we do it back home".

Noticed today a full flock of them have left the area this past weekend with more over the last two days.
Mar 1 is about right for the early birds.

There will be another large flock by the 15th, and pretty much the final group will be outa here by April 1st and we can start cleaning up the place.
Apparently the "way they do it back home" is dump huge amounts of refuse on the roads and street.

But we love the little feathered devils.
They fly down starting in Nov with pockets just full.
We try to empty their pockets and get them outa here by 1 Apr at the latest.

We all look forward to spring tho.
By the 1st of Apr we are tired of scraping our feet and saying "yes massa" to every request. :)

Spring is coming.

Soon.

GreyHawk, about 3 miles from the house. but we have well over 100 courses in the area and probably 50 look this good or better. This is the lunch patio and I was having a Corona and a Cesar salad, Ah! life is good in Scottsdale!

However don't forget the house boat lake just an hour away see www.azmarinas.com and select Lake Roosevelt and then the gallery.
