Yes, the Catalytic Converter on my MO died a couple of days ago. I got a Service Engine light and ran the ODBC diagnostic and got a P0420. Fortunately it was the cat and not the o2 sensor, so I'm not losing any money on this.
I needed to have the gas tanke recall repair, a coolant flush, and a serpentine belt replaced anyways, so it turned out to not be that big of a deal.
BTW, my 48K extended warranty expired and I was quoted between $2000 and $1150 for a new warranty out to 80K miles. I was going to pull the trigger on the $1150 deal, but I've decided that I'm going to trade my MO next year. I'll either get another MO or the Buick Enclave or possibly the Infinity CX35 (if they ever release it)
Another alternative is to wait until the next gen MO is released, but I haven't heard anything about that yet, so I just don't know. |
