Found this on the internet, ($79.00) just received it today. I really like it.
Same brand as I had on my MDX. Easy to Install, Hood shuts just fine
did not have to adjust anything.

Niiiize, who makes it? Does the seller have more?
nissanlove
i actually got that style from the nissan dealership and it has the nissan logo on it so maybe jahjr has it straight from nissans supplier. it's a tight fit if you have the z grill but this one defenitaly won't break off haha.

What year is your MO?
jahjr
The manufacturer is Form-Fit, They are a Canadian Company
and only sell through distributors. I bought mine from
autoseattle.com, they ship either from the State of Washington or New York depending where you live. The part # hdw 13L03.
The price is $79.95 plus shipping.
Here is a link: http://autoseattle.com/focus_photos.htm
My MO is a 2005 SL

Thanks!

I like how that protects the front lip of the hood better. Does it actually deflect any bugs though? The other night I was driving home at night and I swore it sounded like it was raining.

Now thats interesting. Wouldn't happen to have a Nissan part number?
nissanlove
i don't think it does anymore for bug deflectiong but it does keep the hood cleaner when it rains and it provides more frontal prtotection than just the clear bra.
nissanlove
enforcer, i'll go check if there is one on the deflector itself.
nissanlove
sorry bud but no part number to be found, and i just found out that one of the clips broke off, most likely because of the z grill, dosn't seem that the integrity has been affected though. i think you best bet is to go through the company that JAHJR got his through. certainly is much cheepr than what we paid for at the dealership(170 cdn plus tax)

Ja Enforcer, have had my eye on this one since I saw the first Ca with one. Asked and got an offer to have it shipped but it was a bit much for me at that time. I wish I would have had it though just for the frontal rock protection.
Enforcer
 Thanks for checking :).

Well the hood closes but with a little more force than I would like, will have to look into adjusting it. And not a moment too soon either, already had one small pinhead sized stone chip.

Here is my wind/bug deflector. $99.00 installed...looks and functions great, adds a finishing touch to the front end. Nissan logo on the front right.
Enforcer
Hey I got ripped off, no nissan logo on mine. :D
Chunk
Hellooo.

Each of these pix looked so shweet that I ordered and installed the Form-Fit unit (from autoseattle.com) on my '06 SL. Enforcer's report is confirmed: it takes a little extra closing force (on '06s). Hood bumper adjustments didn't help, so I suspect that a latch assembly shift might be effective.
This thread was timely because I concluded that my hood had taken too many hits to apply a clear bra. Of particular note was an asteroid hit that blew away a 5mm paint chip from the edge of the hood.

My deflector did not have the Nissan logo, but it did have the Form-Fit logo.

Verdict: Thumbs up!

Best Regards,
Chunk

Hi all,

This thing looks very nice (special thanks to Enforcer for posting the picture, now I know how it will looks on my Mo), but in the manual it says to “Avoid automated car washes”, so how I suppose to wash my Mo? Is it too flimsy to go thru the car wash?
Enforcer
The bugflector I had on the 03 said that too, I think they all say that. I take it through a touchless autowash no problems.
Murano_driver
Touchless? Do you mean brushless?
Enforcer
Yeah, spray only.

anyone have experience with the AutoVentshade hood protector? There website lists it, local Advance Auto can s/o it in 1day for 44.94+tax, just would like to see it on a MO..

Thanks in advance,
hfelknor
Touchless car wash = absolutely nothing touches except water.

I was at a mobile station a couple of years ago when a guy went thru with a Bug Catcher on the front of a Ford Focus.
It was one of those with the shredded looking stuff hanging down and the machine would spritz soap all over the car and then drag this shreddded looking "wash rag" over the car.
Well it got caught in the bug Deflector and tore it off......damaged the hood too.

You could pretend you were poor (I do) and wash your car by hand (gasp!). :D

Hey Homer,

If I lived where you do I'd hand wash Christmas morning too! (I'd also be over to test race, er, drive the Beemer)

I hand wash my MO for most of the year. There are a few times in the winter when it's absolutely too cold.

Those are the times, I'll drive through and get the economy wash just to get the "chunks" off. Man, that salt and road crap look great on a Black Murano.

I grimace the entire time.

Then, I drive straight to my garage and do the final drying & touch up.

They just opened a "touchless" wash this summer. I'll have to go look at it and see if it truly is without touch.

I have the Weathertech bug shield, very durable, never worried about it coming out in the wash...

Hey Admin..... Any way to get the word "Murano" accepted as correctly spelled on the Murano board?
Eric L.
I too had a Weathertech bug shield up front (I think the official name was "weatherflector") but removed it in favor of the Colgan full front bra. Now the weatherflector has been sitting in my garage for 2-1/2 years gathering dust. When I did use it, it worked great and was a snap to install - very secure and would have no hesitation taking it through a carwash.

The price I would get for it is not worth the shipping costs. I doubt anyone would pay $30 for it and another $20 for shipping. That sucker is huge!

Who knows, one day I might put that bad boy back on.

I purchased this over the MacNeil one since it offers more coverage of the hood. Hopefully I won't have to close the hood too hard. Waiting for it to be shipped to me.
