Street-striping paint on my car! - Click HERE for Original Thread

Yesterday I drove over a newly-painted white stripe just put down by the highway dept. Sprayed white paint up on the side of my dark blue Murano. I've found most of it chipped off, but does anyone have a suggestion for the residue? And what about on the white paint on the black rubber splash guards? Maybe just elbow-grease.

Now see if it was Zaino'd it'd probably just wipe off :D I ran into some yellow paint one day :(.

You can try just washing it first, if that doesn't work then rubbing alcohol, turtle wax bug and tar remover, and clay bar.

Thanks again, Enforcer. Rained today - I'll look in the morning and see if some of the remnants of my chipping it off have vanished.

Kit brand Scratch Out will work on the painted surfaces. Get some Oops! or Goof Off to get it off the plastic. Make sure you treat the plastic with something afterwards like mother's back to black.

I got a bunch of street line yellow dots on ecach of my left wheel wells. I must have been going dead straight because that's the only place the paint ended up.

I had exactly the same thing on my wife's Accord, which is blue. I used the clay bar. It came off completely. Just be ready to spend some time on it and use enough lubricant.
