Yup, gotta make room in the stable for the new toy:

One annoying thing is that there aren't any decent forums for Pathfinders like the fine one we have here. So I'm working at setting up my own :D http://www.TheNissanPath.com

MightyMO,

Sad to see you go…..but then again I was always wondering why did you buy Murano, given the type of driving you do.

Good luck and drop here from time to time. Enjoy your new ride.

MightyMo-

It looks so... so... un-MO-like.

Out of curiosity, have you noticed any common components? Steering wheel? HVAC controls? etc.

Best of luck,

I just need more truck in my life. Better off roading, better towing, 3rd row of seats. The gas mileage isn't any worse, though it doesn't handle nearly as nice, but that's the basic trade off between truck frame and unibody.

1 week later, 500 views of the CL posting, about 10 email inqueries and one test drive, but nothing firm. Dropping the price to $18.5K, need to get the thing moved.

As for common parts, hm, not really. The HVAC controls are laid out very similar to the Mo, but the Mo's are much better. For instance on the Mo you can rotate the temp dial, but on the Path you just tilt it 45 degrees over and over again like a switch changing it a degree at a time.

How much for the armor plating?
MightyMo
Not really sure yet, I was kinda waiting until the Mo sells before worrying too much about it.

The costs to put it together were pretty extraordinary. $1500 just to fab the plates, and it's mounting system was integrated into the existing Euro-Tech grill guard ($327) and rocker bars ($265), and it was designed to clear my custom hand made mandrel-bent mid-pipe. So all these parts need to sell together as a kit.

But, that being said, all the above parts are used of course, and mounting it won't be a simple bolt-on excercse. Nut-inserts need to be put into holes in the front subframe and other minor tweaks to get it all to bolt up right.

I don't know, $1000 for all those parts seem fair? What do you think? It would be best if you're local here in CA, so we could go to BugFormance and have them re-do the install.
zebelkhan
Sounds like a fair price. A little off my budget but I will definitely think about it.
MightyMo
Oh, you are local, cool, you should just come by some time and check it out.
zebelkhan
I will, once the big boss approves of the expense. For some reason she thinks the MO does not need anything else.......
MightyMo
Sold.

Zebelkhan! Let me know about the skid plates and stuff, need to get it out of my garage. I've also got a JWT CAI and Sirius Sat Radio box to sell as well if anybody here wants dibbs before I create a new posting for it.
