Hi ,
Can anyone please give me instructions on how to remove the Radio Head unit from the MO Dash.
I am planning to install a Wired FM Modulator. Does anybody have any experiance with this device? |

You need to follow the installation instructions come with your FM demodulator unit. I installed Dension ice Link FM demodulator to my MO. The installation pretty easy, here my demodulator installation instructions for reference:
1) Set the modulator FM frequency (normally you have the
option to select the of the preset freq.
2) Connect the demodulator ant. output to HU ant. input. Connect
the MO ant. to demodulator ant. input
3) Connect demodulator +12V power wire to MO switched +12V
4) Connect the demodulator ground wire to MO chassis for
grounding |

I also did it. Piece of cake. Look for the satellite installation directions elsewhere.
--Assuming you have a 6-disc Bose--
Eject all the CDs, and lock the CD mechanism (I can't recall how, right now -- you'll find it in Jaak's famous instructions) With the car turned off, put the shifter in N or D to make room. Put a bath towel over it. Pop out the trim around the nav or information center using a plastic trim knife. Remove the two screws holding in the stereo. Pull the stereo out, resting its face on the bath towel over the shifter. The antenna jack is in the right rear corner of the back of the head unit.
Unless you have built-in satellite radio (and are using it), how about considering a PAC Audio or iPod controller? I had to do it because I ran out of time waiting for PAC to release v1 of their product and I was heading out on a cross country drive. Even hardwired, you'll go through audio compression and there's a terrible hiss at "volume 30". It cannot touch the digital input the SAT connector provides. Not even the same league. |
