| Those jerks are all around here on little streets with 30mph zones giving tickets to folks going 38 nothing but a money maker. So hated some sit down the street for hours flashing their lights so they get nothing but OK speeds and finally go away. :3: |

Yeesh, that's one of the reasons I had to move to PA. One of the last (well-populated) ones to respect America's love for the road and driving adventure.
I never realized what it was doing to my blood pressure living in NJ, knowing that at any second, any tree, any parked truck, any overpass, any street-level billboard could be hiding a police car with "instant on". And they're not afraid to use it. Every small town, highway town, and small to medium city. Any moment, any car parked in someone's driveway could be your next ticket. And I've earned them from all directions, parked, moving, radar, pacing, you name it (except helicopter).
PA is the last state to ban municipalities from using radar in the police cars. They believe that you are capable of being mature and driving within your skills and sensibility. Sure they put up "Your Speed Is" signs, but they can't issue tickets from them. Only the State Police can, so be a wee bit more conscious on the many interstates that grace our beautiful state. And listen to 159.075 MHz when you're on the turnpike, and 155.460 everywhere else for car-to-car chatter ;)
And while we're on personal freedoms, once you receive a gun permit, the issuing agency is *required* to also offer a permit to "carry concealed". Its a good thing PA is so big, because you can't get away with half the stuff you normally can once you cross state borders in any direction. |

Just when I thought I foiled the speed traps by fitting a radar detector to the MO, they've now busted out the speed photo cameras in my neighborhood. At night, its easy to spot since the sign is brightly lit, but during the day, the radar bounces all over the place and I get a dozen false readings to each real one (so I'm always looking around for the stupid trailer they put out with the speed camera on it).
I understand why they do it though. Lots of kids playing outside when the weather is warm, so I'd want traffic to slow down for them too. |

Those "jerks" are the first to respond if you are in an accident, have a fire, or need emergency services. Those same "jerks" lay their lives on the line every day to protect you and me.
