I have been thinking about this mod ever since I saw this mod pic shown below. This mod integrates a docking station into the dash and allows for remote control, charging, aux input, minimizes clutter, and looks OEM.
The first step, which I am having a really tough time figuring our is where to put it.
I think I have selected to place it on the dash as tight to the front lip as possible. This will allow for clear view of my ipod video. I hope to connect a video monitor to it as well. I was thinking in the location Katsu selected for his overhead monitor (see pic below)
Does anyone have a picture of the dash without the vent/radio bezel, so I can see if there are any obstacles in the way? Is anyone aware of any that will get in the way?
Thanks and much more to come.

Wow! Talk about crickets! Not one response.
Makes me thing that this is not a good idea. I guess no one is high on cutting up there dash.
I'm still waiting on the dock that I ordered to come in - hopefully today. I didn't realize this before, but the dash is hard plastic. I always thought it was cushioned vinyl or something like that. I think this will actually make the project easier, since there is no messing with creating a cavity under the dash for the dock.
Here are some more dock mod pics of different cars that also gave me the inspiration for this mod project.

| Biggun - I like the one in front of the shifter. You could even try and mount something on the drivers side of the storage underneath the A/C controls. Pardon my very crude drawing: |
