so now taht its the end of the year, the mdx price has dropped into the Murano territory.
i have been debating for the past week on which car to purchase.
can you guys give me some insight that might help ease my decision?
so far..
murano = sharp, nice tech,
mdx= roomier, known as Luxury,
i test drove the murano this sat, but the dealer only allowed me to go around the block once.. sucked.
didnt test drive the mdx yet, but i am reading every article under the sun.
any thing is well appreciated.
it is not a daily driver for us, we will use this car for some trips and skiing. of coarse groceries local shopping etc. |

| I just got rid of my 2002 Mdx and have no regrets. Really like the Murano much better. |

In regards to styling: No offense, but the MDX is boring as all heck to look at.
In regards to roominess: I used to have a big ol' Honda for transporting stuff around. The only time I actually filled up the cargo space is when my wife and I decided to do a week long car-camping trip. Most of the other time is was empty, bar the usual car stuff that would be sliding around in the back :)
Anyway, since you say they are around the same ballpark price now - go test drive them both some more. Take the MO out on the highway.
BTW, allowing you to only drive around the block is dumb.
Good luck, have fun!
I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever you purchase. |

yes the test drive was so bogus. i guess somewhere inside me jsut cant believe i am buying such an expensive NISSAN.
but i keep thinking the murano is a SPecial nissan not the same as the other nissan cars.
keep the inputs coming guys .. thx. |

I looked at the MDX prior... a couple of personal things I didn't like:
Price
Only came with Leather
I really disliked the HAC controls... they are setup to press and forget which is good for some but I like to see where the air is coming out, fan speed etc. The MDX just had "auto" I believe. The lack of other indications would kill me.
The huge MPG display... what a waste, and its not like the MDX is getting great milleage either.
Thrid row seat was pretty much useless of me, I like the extra space without 'em.
Murano had slighly better gas milleage
Good luck! |

such tough decisions LOL
when has spending money been so tough?
honestly this CVT thing is really haunting me with some early failures
i am pretty sure in the nYC area there is no GOOD service from any service centers here.
they both will be Leather and navi ( which ever one i pick)
so the murano navi cant adjust on the fly?
and the stupid MDX doesnt have HID for almost 40k. |

IMHO
MDX - worthless third row seats which make the second row cramped
Whole interior seems cramped to me.
Much better All Wheel Drive
Just a tad better finished than MO, but not enough to justify cost
MDX must have HID in one of their packages.... |

Now if you were talkin' the 07 MDX (vs the 07 Murano)......
The 07 MDX would certainly be my choice, but you ain't gettin'
the MDX for Murano prices in an 07.
BTW, "some" MDX transmissions failed too.
"Some" of ALL transmissions fail on ALL cars (mass market).
