Sat Radio in 06 SL - Click HERE for Original Thread

There are alot of posts about Sat Radio in the Murano dating back to 2003. It took me a while to figure it out. Just bought a 06 SL AWD. I don't see the SAT option when i press the RADIO button, just AM/FM. But from what i understand it is prewired. So all i need is the SAT receiver, which plugs into the harness behind the rear seats and an antenna. I am wondering which is better to purchase, the receiver and antenna from grubbs performance or the SAT Kit from Your Nissan Parts or should i check with my Dealer? Thanks to all. Long live SAT RADIO.

Or can my local Car Audio shop get these parts? Any Canadians out there with SAT in your Mo? Did you purchase equipment from the US? Thanks again.

I have an 06, SL, AWD... I bought the SAT receiver and Ant from Grubbs... I love it. It was awsome. I hid the antenna in the rear hatch... so you can't even tell I have it. It works great with the radio. Actually the sound is louder and clearer then the regular stations. Sad, but very true... it works much better built in.

Now my wife has the siruis replay sitting on her dash. I'm jealous cause she has alot of options I don't have. A few things are...

-She can move around the stations and see what is playing before she selects it.
-She can pause a song in case she gets a phone call or gets out of the car... and then start it from where she left off.
-She can rewind a station up to 45 min's. listen to songs she missed or wants to hear again, or the news over and over...
-She set an alert for a song or artist... she likes Phish, so whenever they come on any station, it beeps and shows the station for her to select it if she wants.. before they come on so she doesn't miss it.
-She can also take it out of the car and bring it anyway to listen when she wants.

We don't get any of those options with the built in receiver... the only benefit, is no receiver on the dash or wires handing out of the cig lighter... it's built in which is nice and clean looking.... and the sound is million times better.

I would say Grubbs is the best place to buy if your going with the hidden reciever. :2:

Wow those are some great features.

I would suggest getting the parts from Marlboro Nissan. As I recall when I purchased my reciever from them about 1 year ago the were the lowest price over either of these two. Their phone number is:

508-481-3232

They had good parts service.

Does anyone know the Nissan Part numbers for the Receiver & Antenna?

I have an 06 and purchased the Sirius SAT receiver and ant from Grubbs and I believe they are the same factory parts your local dealer would install (but charge allot more). The install went fine and everything functions perfectly and the sound is fantastic. I also hid the ant in the rear hatch. Also, you don't need a SAT button, just use the Radio button and the radio will cycle through FM/AM/SAT once everything is connected. I also have a Sirius subscription for my home and when I added the second car subscription it automatically gave me the free activation and 3 month free (it must have recognized the receiver serial number as a Nissan radio).

Moreover, regarding controls (Factory installed XM on a 06 SL)...

Hold the station selector down and it toggles between XM stations (there are around 250) and your programmed presets (the presets can be a mix of FM/AM and XM stations too)... ie you can simple surf through all the XM stations or just your presets.

Hold the "mode" button down and it toggles CD/tape/radio/XM OR just preset station banks, ie A/B/C.
