Any '07 Murano Sightings? (It looks like the new MOs are shipping!) - Click HERE for Original Thread

The '07 MOs are starting to show up in dealer online inventory.

Have any of you seen an '07 in the wild?
Any differences from the '06?

Any information is appreciated!

Alan

ok, how would you tell the difference between an 07 and an 06? from the outside of course, while driving down the street...

Somewhere along the way, I will go to my local dealer and see if I can see any differences when I look closely at the '07 Murano. By sightings, I meant to ask if anyone had seen a genuine '07 Murano up close.

Let us know if any of you spot one.

Thanks,
Alan

A salesman from my local Nissan Dealership called me Friday with very exciting news! They got their first shipment of the 2007 MO! They only got one. Midnight Blue, SL, touring pkg. I'm super excited. I was planning on making the hour drive Saturday, but that didnt happen. I can't wait to see my baby. I will report back. :)
alanpgh
Please report back any differences (visual or under the hood or options) between the '06 and '07 MO.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Alan

Why all the excitement over the 07 model? Nissan press releases have already revealed that there are no major changes for 07. You can read it on www.nissannews.com
alanpgh
There's not really any excitement. Just curiosity.

It's one thing to see a press release and another to actually see the '07 MO and ask the dealer if there are ANY differences from the '06 MO. Or, better yet, compare side by side.

Who knows, there may be some new options. including an official factory iPod interface for the MO or something more exciting.

Let the curiosity play out.

Thanks,
Alan

With all due respect the excitment on my behalf comes from 4 months of not having my 2006 MO and having to drive my 1995 Maxima. The 2007 will be a replacement for the one that was totalled in May. So yes I am very excited and not ashamed. It's the thrill of having the newest model. It's like a NEW toy.

Go for it! Let us know what you find out when you see the MO.

Oh it wasn't my intent to dampen your enthusiasm. Rather, it was just to clear up any expectations that the 07 will be "all new" rather than a update of the older model. I drove a 97 Maxima before I got the MO too and I've got to say they are both fantastic cars (I'm not sure which one I like better - the MO is smoother and more luxurious, but the Max was much more fun to drive).

Best of luck finding yourself another MO! :)

It's in my garage!!!

I just purchased my '07 SL-AWD. It's black w/the latte interior and every single option. I know what everyone really wants to know (you already know I love it). I paid $35.3K. MSRP was $39.5K. Not too bad. :D

Now for the real fun - The brutal Bay Area commute and Tahoe this fall. Should be a lot more fun though.

Not too sure of any major differences from the ’06, but there are some exterior trim differences like the silver trim that runs along the base between the wheels and I the rims are a bit nicer.

-----

’07 SL-AWD W/Touring W/XM and Dynamic Control packages and NAV. Minor extras: carpeted floor mats, cargo area protector, sunroof wind deflector, HID headlights w/manual adjuster and tinted windows.
:D

Please post a few pictures. Even one photo would be great!

You'll love your MO!

Hey Drewtoo,

Congratulations!

Could you let us know what your stereo looks like? Do you have the Bose 6 CD Changer. If so, is there an audio input plug on the front (for an ipod for instance)? Does it have a cassette slot?

Thanks!!

Any surprises? Bluetooth? Factory ipod interface? Any of the cool features that are on all 5 of the Shift 2.0 vehicle, but not on their flagship SUV, the MO? Can you tell I am ticked off? :)

Drewtoo-

Congrats!! It looks like you are the first '07 MO owner on the forum.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Sorry guys, I have not had a chance to take pictures yet. Will do soon. Really, the only difference I can see is the colored trim at the base of the vehicle from wheel to wheel. It's a nice touch and makes the SUV look longer I trhink. As for "any surprises". Nope, no blue tooth or iPod adapters to be found. :( I love the NAV and the backup camera however. Plus I just smoked some joker in a Lexus RX330. :D.

Cool beans.
Nothing better than a new car to make a man (or woman) feel good.:)

Course it's a sad day for me.

Officially, I am now driving an old car. :(

We have been Nissan owners for many years now and have and '02 Xterra and an '04 Titan.

We have been to the dealership a couple times in the last year and driven the Murano, the most recent time was today. I had a coworker that just invested in a brand new prius and said it came with Bluetooth and some additional fancy tech interfaces. I thought that for sure the '07 Muranos would have stepped up to the plate. Those sorts of upgrades could really have sold me on the vehicle.

I actually ended up here in this forum to clear up the fact that the salesman told us it was bluetooth equipped. Maybe his wishful thinking also.

Ipod interfaces, Bluetooth, easy AUX inputs, and device interface seem like a critical and necessary components these days and I am dissappointed that Nissan has lets this model year slip by. The MO is great and I am sure we will own one, but I'll just wait for the gadgets to catch up--they certainly have the mechanical part figured out.

Thanks for listening.

THIS IS AN EASY QUESTION TO ANSWER, At first look the 06 and 07 are relatively the same. The difference is in the tail light, the 06 has a solid red lens, the 07 has a yellow and clear/white lens see pic below.

I think what you are seeing is the reflection from the camera flash. Under normal lighting conditions the tails appear all red (see left tail in photo).

Agree with joe - the lens is all red - the bright spot you see is the camera flash.

In a way, I like it when taillights have a separate "light" for the brakes and the signals. This is the way it is on the 03-05. The top part is for the brakes, and the middle part is for the signal light. For the LED tails, the entire cluster flashes when the signal is turned on, reminding me of those old American cars where the brake and signal light were the same light cluster. Yeah I know thats what the third brake light is for, but as far as I am concerned, the more "different" lights, the better. Notice all European cars have dedicated (i.e. separate) brake and signal taillights.

:1pat: Good point, I missed the left tail and now looking at the photo i would agree it must be reflection.
