Hey there, first post!
Over the weekend I drove a new 2006 Murano and fell in love! I was hoping someone could answer a couple questions for me since you all know some much about Murano's. What would I gain from buying a 2003 (or 2004, 2005) vs a 2006? The one I drove was fully loaded and I guess I don' t know which options are available for each year. Here are some of the features I liked: the rear camera, dual climate control and heated seats, the look of the whole interior, the optional DVD entertainment system, and the CVT transmission, just to name a few.
I know the 2007's are coming out soon, but I would rather not look at the new features on that one since and would like to purchase a slightly used 2006 the first of the year. So I am just going to stay way from the 2007!
I tried to search my question, but couldn't find what I was looking for, so I apologize if this is a repeat question.

Hi and welcome.
Here are some changes for the 2006 vs. the 2003 and for the most part the 2004-2005. The 2006 just had incorporated new changes so I would not expect the 2007 to have many new items.
Bling bling chrome around fog lights - did not exist
Bling bling chrome trim on rocker panel - did not exist
Bling bling chrome roof rack option - was black
Bling bling chrome rear top bumper protect - was black plastic
Color info display screen with standard rear backup camera
LED tail lights
Radio interfact changed slightly
New center console
Removed rear drink cup holders that were located near the floor
New instrument cluster 0 color change and "metal" added
More metal trim on enterior
Tweaked suspension
New Rims
Keyless entry/engine start
New color to compass display in rear view mirror
04- 06 are prewired for SAT radio, 03 models had to have harness installed. In either case all needed to have received and antenna installed.
I think that was it, someone can correct me.
Do a search for "2006" and you will find some good info. |

Hi! And thank you for some much information in so little time!
It looks to me like I want the 2006. So the keyless ignition and entry is new on the 2006 too? I LOVE that! It actually makes me feel safe not having to fumble for keys! I was thinking to myself that I don't NEED a 2006 and could get a 2003-2005, but I think I'm wrong!!

2005 is when they started having the rear-view camera and intelligent key options, but only on fully loaded MO's. The other things you mention have been on all the model years.
Reconsider the entertainment system. I don't understand why people are willing to pay for those. They're WAY too expensive. For the same price you could get several equivelant personal DVD players, and those wouldn't be locked into the vehicle. You could even get an aftermarket built-in one that is much better for less money. |
