Any reason for wanting a slotted rotor?
Besides looking "cool," they are absolutely unnecessary, especially on the Murano. I doubt you drive your Murano hard enough to need a slotted rotor. You will only notice a difference if you are on the track and are seeing high brake temperatures where the slots actually become useful. Slotted rotors also tend to eat up your pads faster as well so take that into consideration.
well, thats my $.02, take it for what its worth, I just know I could find a better way to spend money than on a cool looking rotor that no one would notice. If you want better braking, get better pads or tires. |

I can make my ABL sound off at will with stock stuff. I think tires would be the only upgrade available for stopping any faster.
A lady jumped out of her driveway about 30 feet in front of me in a 40 mph zone the other day, GRRROOOOOOWL.

Well said. So many people don't get this. It's the tires that stop the car. If your brakes can lock the tires or turn on the ABS... you need stickier tires before you need upgraded brakes. Slotted rotors have about as much gain in braking performance on the MO as painting the calipers. |

Maybe it's not for performance, maybe he is looking to install the slotted rotors simply for the visual impact. There's nothing wrong with that.
Some like 8-ball shifters, others don't. Some like 22" wheels, others don't. Some like rocker bars, others don't. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

yeah, 8-ball shifters, that's purely for comical reasons and it only cost $10.
Slotted rotors are typically around twice the price of a solid rotor. I'm just saying that is a lot of money to pay for a very minor visual detail, but it's all about the little things right? |

| For street performance, the best application is probably a cryo-treated blank (non slotted or drilled) rotor, with an aggressive pad like Porterfield R4S or Hawk HPS. |
