Just traded in my 03 MPV van for the 06 Murano. I got the van for my wife who refused to drive it so I learned my lesson the hard way about leading girls to water....Anyway I couldn't stand it anymore and finally decided to trade for a cooler ride. Looked for a 0-money down sign and drive with 15k miles and free maintenance and found it at Reed Nissan. The initial deal experience was what you would expect but as I walked out the door the manager finally grabbed my ankle and offered me the deal for $350.00 with maintenance and tires for 39 months. I view this deal as ok not great but ok. I turned in the MPV and was glad to be out of it. I was not upside down in the MPV and they overvalued the trade in for the deal so the residual is fairly low. I figure if I like the car I can buy it at the end and have an ever lower payment if I want. This is my 3rd lease and I have always had good luck leasing as I really take care of the cars I ride in.
My Murano is an S with the power pedal / power seat upgrade and a roof rack. I also added an Auto dimming mirror with compass and homelink. They did not have the color I originally wanted but I am happy with the Merlot with the tan interior. When you clean out the last of the '06 models the pickings are slim.
I am getting used to the CVT and I have yet to drive the car hard.
I look forward to reading more threads and becomming more familiar with this community.

Charlie's Dad-
Welcome aboard and good luck with your new MO. It is definitely nicer and more fun to drive than the MPV.

| Yeah...I kinda don't know what ever possesed me to trade in a BMW 328i for it. It was sort of a nightmare I am just waking up from. A midlife crisis in reverse....anyway I feel a lot better now. |

Let me get this straight. You traded in a BMW 328i for an MPV van, and then could not understand why your wife refused to drive it? It's a safe bet you won't be making that same mistake anytime soon.
Enjoy your new MO. :roadtrip:

I learned my lesson about doing what my Father did with his wife...yeah she kinda told me what to do with the MPV and she took my Acura...which she promply traded for a Honda Pilot EX. I've spent the last three years in MPV purgatory making it up to her.
I made the best of it but I must say aside from it being a great hauler of stuff it kind of sucked....in general.
I should have kept that BMW. But now as I see it I have the BMW of SUV's. |

Welcome!
You got a bargin! $350/month, free maintenance and no down - wow! This is a great deal!! |

I only say it's not great by comparison with my wife's deal .... She got maintenance, tires Honda Pilot EX for 350 0-money down out the door...and she had a higher sticker to start with. It really pays to buy or lease at the very end of September.
Charlie's Dad's rules for the best deal:
- Buy at the end of September....possibly October (but your pickings will be slim)
- Start your dealing late Friday night....always leave the dealership (but slowly so they try to cling to you as you leave) wait for the deal as you start to exit.
as you leave say something like...I really have to go to babysit my kid but I would know you are sincere if you will extend the deal till tomorrow.
- Do not agree to take the car overnight! This is tempting but it really weakens your negotiation position IMO.
- Return Saturday to conclude the negoitations.
- Most important....Always leave the trade out of the Deal! Spring it on them at the last minute WHEN ALL ELSE IS DONE! |
