2006 SE VDC and Nav questions - Click HERE for Original Thread

Ok, I've done some reseach on this site already for the answers but I've yet to find anything that relates to the '06 which has the LCD screen.

I bought my wife a Murano SE AWD, but it didn't have NAV or VDC. I wanted these options but was left with choosing from what the dealers in the area had in stock.

Is it possible to retrofit NAV and VDC? The car already has the same LCD screen as the NAV unit. I'm hoping that all the wiring is already there and all that is needed is to plug in a module. :fingerscrossed:

:( Never mind, I'll find out for myself this weekend when I do the sat. radio install.

That's probably the best.
I know you are disappointed in the lack of response and most certainly the forum should know the answer to this.....
After all the 06s have been out for several weeks now.

As a guess, from experiences with older models, these are not reasonable projects and will cost FAR more than the original cost would have been.

Uhhh, either you are living in a time warp or your confused. Todays date is October 13 2006, which means that the 2007 MODELS are now on the showroom floors NOT THE 2006 MODELS.

I picked this up from reading the other threads on this subject, however my understanding is that until the '06 model came out the only way to get the color LCD screen is if you had NAV. Since the LCD screen is standard in the '06's up, it makes sense that they might put in all the wiring and just not include the modules. This would save time on the factory lines. Also, as there are Murano's in the junkyards, salvaging the equipment for next to nothing wouldn't be difficult.

As I said, since no one has provided a definitive answer I'll take a look myself this weekend with my buddy who is a Nissan mech to try to figure out if this is the case.

My bad.

I hope you are right,
But it wouldn't be the first time that Nissan did not install a harness universally.
Good luck.
