Two weeks and I've already had it with Nissan dealer - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hello All:

It's my first time posting and I would like to say I learned a lot of information from this website. I just bought a Murano two weeks ago.

So I take my 2004 Murano last Wednesday to get the 27000km service. I tell them I have a window ratting on the driver side, and a rattling on the passengar dashboard. I get the car back and it says $22 for tape to fix the driver side noise. I ask what this is, and they say they don't know the girl that was looking after my order went home. I think no big deal I will order some car mats and take care of it in a week. I get a call on Friday that my mats are in. So I go into the dealership today they don't have any mats and there was no order for mats in the last year. Sighhhhh. I say okay maybe you can help me with my car, I was charged $22 for tape??? and the noise is still there if not worse. He tells me there nothing they can do because rattles and squeaks are covered up to 20,000Km (adjustment period). I bought the car somewhere else but was quite willing to service it at this delear ship. Now I am just losing my patience. I never had these problems with Honda. WTF is going with Nissan.

Thanks,

Klaudiusz.

BigK75-

I would ask for my $22 back since they insinuated that they did not do anything for the rattle because the car was out of the warranty period. I would also seek out another dealer. These guys are not worthy of your business.

The girl pull off a fast one from you.
I saw her running with $22 to Tony Roma, a place for rib.
She might tape your car with her bubble yum.
Seriously, you should get your money back!

Believe it or not, padded tape is used to dampen vibrations on Nissans. Its in the "window rattle TSB" I believe (search for it on www.nissanhelp.com).

You should not, however, have been charged the $22, since generally TSBs are covered under warranty repairs.

Since they did not fix the rattling noise, you should insist they try to fix it again (if its worth the hassle to leave the car at the dealership for another day). The adjustment period covers unreasonable wear on normal service components, and rattles should be covered under the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. To me "bumper-to-bumper" implies everything, including loose fitting windows!
