I picked up my '06 Nissan Murano SL 9 days ago. In the last 4 days, I've come back to my parked and locked vehicle on three different occasions to find both front windows rolled all the way down. This has happened twice in my garage and once in a parking lot of a store. I haven't seen the windows roll down, but they're down when I return to my vehicle.
In all three cases, the window power switch was off. I had to turn it back on to roll the front passenger window up again.
Is there some hidden "ventilate my car" feature on the vehicle? I haven't found any hints of one in the manual.
Right now, I have three theories:
a.) It's some sort of short circuit in the switches in the driver's door or their wiring paths.
b.) It's a malfunction of the pinch sensors.
c.) there's some hidden "cool my car down" function that's somehow triggering.
Any hints, suggestions, or related experiences would be appreciated. I'll definitely haul it to the dealer, but they're half an hour a way and it's a long time until the weekend. It might rain between now and then. |

Its the hidden "ventilate my Car" feature.
Try this.
Take your fob and hit the Unlock and continue holding it down for a few seconds. Watch both windows go down.
Now since you hit the Unlock but didn't get into the car, the car will autolock depending on the time frame you have set in your maintenance screen, but the windows won't go back up.
That will work whether you are demonstrating it to your wife or whether the fob in your pocket has the button depressed while the car is in the garage and you are in the house.

It's neither a.), b.), nor c.). It is most definitely d.) - What Homer said. :D Pressing the unlock button on the keyfob for 5 seconds, whether on purpose or by accident, will cause the front windows to roll down.

Phew. Good to know what it is.
I found the section of the manual that discusses this. Of course it isn't mentioned near the "operation of the windows" :).
I don't see anything in the manual about how to disable this function. Is it possible to disable this? I will never EVER want to roll down the windows remotely as long as I own the car. But I guarantee at some point I'll do it by accident during a downpour.
Maybe I should just cut the traces to the unlock button on the intelligent key. I never use it anyway.
Thanks for cluing me in. |

"I don't see anything in the manual about how to disable this function. Is it possible to disable this?"
Well, i have never played with the various parameters in an 06. But i would guess that no, that would not be a user function.
However, ask the dealer service department.
Sometimes there are things that can be disabled using a consult II service tool............

| Has anyone found out if this can be disabled? I was eating dinner and went to take the dog out for a walk. Saw my front windows open in the driveway. I knew right away that the unlock key on the fob must have been pressed while in my pocket. I also will never need this feature (I have a remote starter to cool the car). So I would like to get this disabled too. Had this happened after I took the dog out, I could have had a very wet car in the morning. |

wchandler-
The reason you can't find it is because it does not exist. There was no wiring change. The front windows' remote-down feature operates just as designed.
