When I pulled into the garage last night, I noticed something weird in the way the light was projected on the garage wall. The pattern I saw was something like this:
Does this have something to do with the postioning of the headlights? What is the cause for the notch seen to the left? Is this a problem that needs to be fixed (yes, it bugs me!)? |

No. That's the pattern for HIDs.
Otherwise you would blind the drivers coming at you.
You have a manual adjust on the lower left dash that allows some raising and lowering of the beams but the pattern is correct.

Thanks Homer. Owning this car has been a learning experience. I seem to be discovering new things all the time.
I was going to ask the dealership to adjust the headlight when I go there for my next oil change - now I know better.
