2007 at the Seattle Auto Show: lots of pics - Click HERE for Original Thread
Corin
My company has a booth at the Seattle International Auto Show running from this last Wednesday through this weekend. I took some pictures of the '07 they have sitting there.

I haven't been keeping up with the threads related to changes on the 06 and 07, so I just took pictures of everything I noticed was different from my 05.

Here are the things I noticed (differences from 05-07):
* Brushed Aluminium roof rails
* Style of wheels
* Clown-face grill (same as 06)
* Chrome rear bumper guard (same as 06, I believe)
* LED tail lights (same as 06)
* Chrome lined dials for climate control (slicker, the 05 dials are easier to turn)
* Center console has 2 openings: top opening is split down the middle and has a small compartment. Big opening now lifts up in front and has a MUCH smaller compartment without a tray.
* Passenger airbag light up by sunroof control
* Cup holders on fold-down armrest in back seat (maybe that's a leather thing? My cloth 05 does not have cup holders there.)
* Chrome interior door handles
* Wiper blades

I'm just going to post up a whole slew of pictures here, just for kicks.

There was a lady there taking measurements of all the seats. She is designing custom sheep-skin seat covers. I told her about our forum and suggested she post here when she has them ready, as there might be some interest.

I'm going back tomorrow (Saturday) to man our booth. If you want more info or pictures, let me know and I can get them.

Center console, big compartment open. Notice it folds up from the front rather than from the side like my 05. And it's a much smaller compartment, particularly from front to back. You'd have to have a very small laptop if you wanted to put it in there.
Corin
Sunroof controls and mirror (mirror is basically the same, but the buttons are different. Smaller, looks a little better than my 05.

Guage cluster and steering wheel

Rear seat armrest with cupholders.

Note that it folds all the way down to rest on the seat, so it's at a pretty sharp angle down. Mine is "floating" in the air. Maybe they had problems with it breaking from lack of support?

Interior door handles are chrome

Last pic.

Wipers are nicer. I think they're the same as the 06, but different than the 05. I know there has been a lot of discussion about these on this forum.

Nice pics!
I still think there are not many changes even comparing to 03. Just cosmetics...

I used to think that too, on my 03.
Turns out the armrest is part of the seat back (On most cars it is cantilevered from the seat bottom) and there fore it's angle is dependent on the seat back angle.
If you have the seat back straight up, the armrest droops.
If you move the seat back, back a bit, the armrest levels out.

Nice pix.
Cosmetic? Yeah mostly.
But I would love to have the rear camera and the Color Info Screen (Much better visibility in sun light).

And I don't understand the console/.
Different?
Yeah.
Better?
Somebody needs to explain to me what is better about the split top.......... :rolleyes:

Great pics, Corin! The changes that you noted are all a part of my 06 MO, and I think Nissan did a great job with refining the car and paying attention to some of the smaller details. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but the new headliner material seems to make the car have a quieter ride. I also love the rear view camera and the upgraded graphics on the color NAV screen.

I'm not sure why Nissan changed the console, and I'm not sure that I like it. The top part is not quite deep enough to hold the cases for the six disks in the CD changer...three or four, max. The only think I can think of that would have led them to this split-down-the-middle design might be related to a weakness of the older console. I had that same console design on my 03 MO as well as the Pathfinder I had before that, and it seemed that the plastic below the padding on the top of the console would break pretty easily with the slightest pressure on it. Leaning on the old console or using it as leverage for getting into or out of the vehicle could weaken or break it. With the split design, there's more strength in the middle section of the top. What I do miss about the old console is that you can't lock the new console. There's really no lockable space inside the MO any more.

I don't like the new console either. All I can think it everything in the top sliding all around when you lift the lid.

I notice that EVERYONE who gets in my Murano tries to open the console with the lever on the front that slides it back and forth. All the yanking has loosened the lid a bit, and that may be another reason for the changes.

If I didn't know any better I would say they parked an '06 on the floor.

I wish they come out with powered tailgate that opens and closes with keyfob :(

I think that's why they changed it. Also, as my wife would point out, it's pretty difficult for the passenger to get into the compartment on my 05 MO. They have to hit the button on the driver's side, then reach all the way over the lid since it flips up to their side. With the new one, they can get into the top section easily, and with the main lid opening from the front instead of the side they can access that as well.

Throw in a broken fog light and that could be my '06.

Hi, nice pictures. I did notice one difference that may be a Canadian/US thing but my 04 rear view mirror has buttons labeled "mirror" and "compass".

Can you please take a close up of the hinges on the rear hatch. I wanted to know if the covers are something that I can add.

Thanks
Eric L.
Thanks for posting the pics. From what I can tell, no significant differences from the 06 model, just like the website said.

Look closely at the picture above that shows the rear view mirror. The two buttons on the right are what you are talking about. The farthest right has a little "+" label, which is actually the compass button, and it turns on/off the display of the digital compass. The other button is the "Power" button, essentially what you're calling the "Mirror" button. That turns on/off the auto-dimming feature.

I'll take close-ups of the rear hatch hinges and post them back up here tomorrow night. And I'll do one better. I'll ask people there if they happen to know if it's possible (don't hold your breath, I seriously doubt they'll know).

Great pictures! Thanks for doing this for all of us!

Looks the same as my '06 SL. The rear cupholders are new. Most everything else looks the same. It would be interesting to see an '06 side-by-side with an '07.

Thanks again,
Alan

That's what I mean. On my mirror they are labelled "Mirror" and "Comp" rather than with symbols. Not a big deal, just a minor difference.
Corin
Gotcha. The buttons are also different in physical shape and size.

Here are some close-ups of the hinge covers. The Nissan people there gave me blank looks when I asked about putting them on older MOs. No surprise there... :rolleyes:
