We moved from the US to Switzerland where the regulations for Xenon light are a bit different. I had therefore to install halogene headlights which I ordered from the US.
Now, I don't have any use of my XENON headlights. Both are in good condition, no tabs broken, no damage or visible scratches.
Is this a good to place to sell them, what about ebay ... or do you have any other suggestions?
I open to any offer.
Freight cost from Switzerland to the US is 100 USD.
Cheers,

If you had it done here, I would have bought them from you and even "give" you my halogen lights!
If you name your price you will get some responses I am sure. e-bay is good too..... |

Hello zebelkhan
Yeah that would have been the better deal ...
What did you have to pay for your pair of XENON Headlight ?
Or what would you think to be a good and fair price ?
Cheers,

I have not done the conversion yet. Still waiting for a pair that I can afford!
Shipping cost to US is going to be a problem for you. But I think you can still do good on e-bay. A fair price is whatever you can sell it for! Check e-bay and you should be able to see what they go for. Just make sure you list it with all the key words so they can find it. It used to be that you could get a pair for around $250 on e-bay. I waited hoping the price would go down but it did not! It actually went up...!
I am willing to pay $250, including shipping for a complete pair but I honestly think you can do better on e-bay.
Good luck... |

Hello Nizmo
Thank you for your comment. If you actually look on why 67% pos. feedback and how I have been doing in 2006, then I would say that I am a pretty good "sporadic" ebayer. The only negative comment is dated 2004 ... and it's not a true anyway .. but that's another story.
So for all potential buyer - I am serious about selling my XENON headlights and you won't be disappointed.
That's all.
Best regards from Switzerland. |

Percentage on 3 transactions doesn't mean much.

| Homer is right. Also look who posted the negative comment. This person has a history of negative comment for and against. |

hi Casper,
i'm heaving my MO2004 inspection in Kanton Zug this coming Monday. Would you mind telling me what other changes are required to make MO legal in Switzerland?
Cheers |

Hello Onufry
As I mentionned I had to do something to my headlights. Two options exist:
a) Adapt the XENON light by spending 2500 to 5000 CHF to have auto adjustable level and autocleaning device (spray).
b) (what I did) replace the xenon headlights with halogen headlights.
Make sure that a garage checks the level of the headlight, cleans your engine (very important for the check) and eventually test your speedometer (proving that the speed indicated (in km/h) is actually higher or at leat the exact speed. The Swiss and european law does not accept that the speed shown in your vehicle is lower than your actual speed (must be the same in the US).
During the check up they did not mention anything about the fact that my rear lights have no orange but red blinkers. Otherwise replace the rear blinker bulbs with an orange/yellow one.
Voilą that's all. Not really complicated.
Best regards from Widnau, SG

hi Casper.
thanks for the info.
i guess i'll learn tomorrow what is not ok with CH standards.
my garage is useless, they told me that the only changes required are disconnecting running lights (the guy actually removed the lamps!!!i thought it could've been done using car computer), removing my front push bar, hood protector, and little orange bulbs from the headlights.
if the inspection will require xeon lights to be changes or replaced, i'd like to get few quotes to adapt them to CH/EU standards. Did you get the 2500-5000 quote from your local Nissan Garage? i'm hoping to ask some local car electronic shop, to figure out if they can hookup some sensors to existing lights, as they already can be adjust manually (do you think this is possible?) |

hello Onufry
I checked my papers and my Garage (Kaufmann, Berneck, SG) asked for the following:
Material 1500.- CHF
Manpower 1000 bis 1500.- CHF
thus a total 2500 bis 3000 CHF
A specialist who imports cars from the US is:
http://www.fleetcar.ch/ they have the cars adapted to the Swiss regulation by http://www.niederberger.ch/ who again has such modifications with headlights done by:
O. Engel GmbH
Heinrich Stutz-Strasse 23
8902 Urdorf (ZH)
Tel. +41(0)43 455 93 33
Fax +41(0)43 455 93 34
Email: info(at)engel-gmbh.ch
From O. Engel I got the quote around 5000.- CHF.
It's for sure technically feasable to have the manual hight adjustment transformed to an automatic one. I simply don't know what it involves. (O. Engel might tell you).
Then you have to mount a cleaning (spray) device. You can make it very cheap by putting a sprayhead on the bumper or to have a fancy one which is hidden behind the bumper and moves out when needed (like on nearly all modern cars with Xenon light in Europe).
Well let me know what you do. ... although I changed mine already to Halogen.
Success !

hi Casper,
well, i haven't passed the inspection. the adaptive xenon light are mandatory. plus i need the washing device.
i was told that trying to adapt the existing Xenon lights does not make sense since the sensors are inside the lamps and they are hooked up to the board computer.
anyways, my nissan dealer is preparing the quote for me. i asked 2 other places to do the same. i they cannot do it, i'll call your man in SG.
cheers for now |
