Where's the VSS wire in 2003 MO? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hi,

I've got a 2003 Murano. I just recently discovered these great forums, and through here, the kit to bypass the 'ok' screen and speed sensor for the Nav.

My problem is that I can not for the life of me find where the VSS wire is. What I see when I look in my dash is nothing like what others describe.

Below my screen, and behind my stereo, is where the Xanavi nav system is mounted. It has two large edge connectors plugged in to the bottom.

Can anyone please say which wire in which connector is the VSS, so I can bypass it? Or if there's a different place where people tap the line, that'd be great, too.

thanks in advance!

The NAV DVD disk player was on the passenger side of the center counsel. If I remember correctly the wire is in there. Open the lid as if you were going to change the NAV Disk.

Thanks very much, I'll have a look in there. Any further clues as to the color of the wire? I'm guessing there's more than one wire. :)

cheers,

I deleted my manuals long ago.

Does anyone else know which wire carries the VSS signal? I'm still at a loss, and I'd really like to install the relay to undo the crippling that the factory forces on the nav system.

I just need to know which wire carries VSS in a 2003 Murano with factory nav.

The pictures from geocities appear to be long-gone.

Thanks!

Go to the Nissan site and purchase the service manuals on line. No too expensive and will be worthwhile.

After much searching, I finally found what I needed, but thanks.

Pin 28 on connector B207 appears to be the wire you need to clip. See this thread:

Note that in the Nissan, this is buried within the center console (beneath the shifter), while in the Infiniti, it's under the passenger seat.

Off to dissect my car now.

Thanks all,

Wow, what an awfully difficult task it is to get to the connector. You have to disassemble most of the center floor console of the car.

Anyway, very important: The Murano's pin 28 is a VIOLET wire with WHITE stripe. Do not cut the grey wire as listed on the link I pasted above. The grey wire is in the exact mirror position from pin 28, so just beware.

Yep, works as advertised. It's almost certainly not worth the effort needed to disassemble that much of the dash and center console.

I spent probably 3-4 hours figuring out how to take the car apart, and this bypass is just gonna save a few seconds at a time. I'm going to need to use this thing a lot! :-)

It is trully good to have the voice of a "I have done it" to help out other member deciding on a plan of action. Thanks for your efforts.

By the way where does the wiring diagram show that the wire comes from? Maybe the other end is easier ?
