I wanted to introduce myself and say hello! I've just joined-up having purchased a Murano in December. I'm located in Scotland, and I can tell you that there aren't many other Murano owners around here. Mine is the only one in my town of 70K folks!
Over here the Murano is a niche vehicle. Nissan have only sold hundreds. I don't think there's an owners club in the UK.
OK, so the car I bought is a January 06 model in Blade Silver. It was a dealer demo and only has 5K miles on the clock. There is only one model in the UK and it's fully loaded. I absolutely LOVE it!
Couple of questions if I may?
Are there any other UK owners on this forum?
How much are your dealers charging for the 06 model rear bumper protector (the metal one)? It's not available in Europe but I'm interested. Found a guy on Ebay selling for around $60, but wanted $100 to ship
Thanks guys! I'm looking forward to Murano ownership! |

Welcome to the forum.
It must be nice to have a unique, "limited-edition" car. Here in the US, there are MOs all over the place. It's a hot seller.
Enjoy the ride.

Congrats on your purchase, I bet it is even more sweet not having look alikes everywhere like here.
I have a buddy in Nottingham and we've found that the shipping rates make everything cheap here in the US prohibitively expensive to ship there. He wanted a MoMo driving setup for a puter game which was 1/2 the price it was there over here. Once we tallied up the shipping, he would save nothing. I guess if you want it bad enough, and it can't be found there, you will have to bite the bullet and pay the outrageous shipping.
Sorry M8. |

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I've been hanging around the site all afternoon - learned a lot already.
Unfortunatley the UK dealers sell so few they don't know too much about the Murano! Most folks put their money into X5's, RX300's or more recently the Range Rover Sport. FYI, the list on a Murano over here is circa £30K. Work that out!
Yeah, the £/$ exchange rate is good for me right now. I need to figure something on the shipping. I work for a US based company with guys coming over to Europe all the time. Maybe arrange a hand carry!
BTW, mgthe3, I see you're in Atlanta. I know it quite well as I lived in Alpharetta for a year back in '99.
Thanks again! |

I am very close to Alpharetta, Kris lived quite close to there as well before he moved to the lake.
Yes, a buddy carry on would be your best bet. I think I paid about $60 for mine.
Anyway, good luck!
