2005 SL vs. 2005 S - Click HERE for Original Thread

Dear NIS MO enthusiasts,
I am thinking of purchasing a used Murano and would like to ask for advice. My budget is around 21K and I am considering 2005 SL AWD model VS 2006 S AWD model, comparable mileage. In other words, do the extra options available in SL worth getting a year older car? I like the 06 dash and LCD, but want to hear true opinion of Murano owners. What are your thoughts? Which one would you chose? Is SL really offers a smoother ride? I drove both, I did not note much difference…

GS-

The S and SL share the same suspension components so the ride is identical. The SE has firmer springs and shocks/struts and has a firmer ride as compared to the S and SL models.

I would go for the 06 S vs 05 SL because of the follwing changes in the 06 as stated below.

1. Color Screen - allows you to use existing screen if you plan to mod like add DVD or NAV.
2. Cluster - higher end look.
3. Rear LCD tails - safety and cool looking
4. crome accent - in and out
5. Rear cup holder - lets not get into that

If you want the dim mirror and tweeters - they can be added easily.

Note that I have the S with convenience package so pedals, roof rails, and power seat are included.

oh, fogs can be added easily as well.

The AWD with the convenience pkg new runs about $27K.
Is it realistic to expect to pay 21K for 2006 S AWD with the conv. pkg. <30K ml? or i could use a reality check calculator?:) Will the 12 month and 30K ml depreciate the value by $6-7K??

Dear biggun, your signature mentions IPAQ GPS, are you using the OEM LCD or you use PDA to view the route. ( you mentione that the original screen can be used with navigation, i searched forums, could not find much info..). Also what kind of rear protector are you planning to use? I live in NYc and need to worry about bumpers from day one. Thansk,G

1. I use a PDA

2. Click on the TV and NAV to Go
3. The 06 has a aluminium trim protector on the top of the rear bumper which protects it when you place items in the back.

Also check out this thread for changes in 2006 model.

gs465- I just checked autotrader, in my area 06 S-AWDs are going for 24-24500 retail. These are dealer asking prices so I would think 21-22k would be doable.

You could probably buy a new 2007 S AWD for 28k if you bargain hard. That price coupled with the 2.9 financing NMAC is offering right now might be a better way to go.
