Trailer Hitch Opinions Revisited - Click HERE for Original Thread
Murano Bliss
Hey All,

Thanks for all the threads on trailer hitches - very informative and some good pics. I wanted to get your latest opinions/thoughts.

As the Nissan OEM hitch is too $$$ for me - I'm going to go with an aftermarket one.

I'm leaning towards a 2" receiver as it seems more of a standard than a 1 1/4" but I'm only going to be using it mainly for a bike rack and light duty stuff - Thoughts?

The CURT and VALLEY hitches look pretty good, as does the Hidden Hitch (although I think the HH is the smaller receiver). Are these brands similar in look(stick out or down about the same)?

I like the look of the rounded or tubular models for the Murano, instead of a squarish one like the Draw Tight, but I'm confused as to which kind are which. As far as the CURT goes, is the Murano compatible version round? Whenever I look it up online it shows the square version for the Murano?

I tend to overthink...well everything and I probably will forget the hitch is there after a couple weeks but I LOVE my Murano and want to make sure any cosmetic changes look cool!

Your thoughts and opinions are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Keith

I have the square drawtite. It fits very nicely between the exhaust outlets, and looks good. Easy to install, and the lowest price I could find (about $125 delivered on ebay.
Never used it, but it's there if I need it.

I also have the square Drawtight hitch with 2" receiver. Easy to install. I've only used it with a bike carrier. I opted for the Drawtight because I wanted the 2" receiver as this is a more widely accepted size.

Hitch is very sturdy. I was recently rearended. The hitch took the brunt of the collision and received no damage. Without it I'm sure I would have sustained more substantial damage to the rear of the MO.

You can see what kind of hitch I have in my sig.
If you do a search you can see what it looks like. It's round with a 2" receiver.
Towed 2800 pounds of concrete on a trailer with it; no problem.

Personally I like the look of my Curt.
The Curt like most, of the after market
Hitchs are relativity easy to install. If you

I have the Curt hitch with the 2" receiver. I didn't connect any electrical because I use it only with a bike carrier.

It was very easy to install. Someone on here posted detailed instructions of the install. I printed them up and did it myself in about 2hrs. I'm not very mechanical so I'm confident anyone could do this.

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm leaning towards the Hidden Hitch as I only need light duty stuff and it's a bit smaller and less visible than the others. Really when you get down to it, they all look pretty similar. Cheers!
