Well once again me and the Mrs were invited downtown Atlanta to the convention center to preview the new secret Chrysler crossover. It was or looks to be a direct competition for the MO but selling probably 5K to 7K less. It was a thing of beauty. Really nice lines front and back. They did the usual routine of giving us a hand held device and marking parts of the car that you found appealing or non-appealing. This new design had the looks going for it up front and all around folks. Looks like a 6 cylinder and I think she was at 235-250 horse. Not sure exactly but it was in that scope. We did not get to sit in the car, only had a chance to evaluate it from 6 or seven feet away on all sides. Later we sat in a fiberglass mock up to check visibility and ease of entry/exit, headroom, visibility and what-not. Then we had to compare it to other cars on the floor like the MO, Lexus, Ford-crossover (Edge or something?) , the Highlander and every other vechile in its class. Must have been 14 or so other new vehicles on the floor. We got through it in 2 hours and made a cool 150 bucks each. It was a good time. BTW, I saw tons of Muranos in the parking lot, no doubt they were targeting our crowd.
When ever they release this, they did not say but you need to take a look see. It was impressive.

Wow! first glance, looks like the MO around the door area; I also had to do a couple evaluations for what I can see now is the GMC Acadia and the Saturn version of the Acadia. By the way I noticed that more and more vehicles on the road are starting to favor the MO.

I need to get my contacts cleaned. I can't see any resemblance to a MO. It looks more like a Jeep Grand Cherokee than it does a MO.

more pics (clearer) of the Dodge version here....

seems quite big, hate the new Dodge grille. Thin Chrome bars, visually look very weak

Afraid not but this thing in the photo was at the show covered over nose and rear. Part of the marketing survey was to enter and exit the car and rate the head room and ease of exit/entry. It was all hush, hush and secret. I had been told that I could not touch the controls or anything. I was not impressed with that Jeep wanna be thing. Frankly I did not care to even sit in it but it was a mandatory event.
The Mo competitor was sleek, not boxy. I have looked for spy shots on the net and can't find any yet. I can tell you one thing, you will sit up in your seat and do a double take when the one I reviewed comes out. Who knows, maybe they don't roll it out till next year?

www.carspyshots.net is easily the best site for spy shots etc. Everyone seems to scan the magazines around the world, so it becomes a useful resource

If it is as big as an Acadia/Aspen/Saturn, it is waaaay too big!!!!
Gotta make room for those 3 rows of seats!

Very cool site. I went through the spy/concept shots and the closest I can come is on this order for what I saw. This is clearly a sedan but the one I saw was a crossover on these types of lines. I know it was a crossover as we had to compare it to the MO and a dozen others on the floor.

Upon second look at this photo, this may be the one I saw and maybe it is not clearly a sedan as I said. This may be it people. The only hesitation was the front hood at the show had a more architectural hood, those distinctive hoods like the Chrysler Crossfire.

Magnum? maybe the generic dodge grille makes me think that. I can pretty much say it looks like all the other dodge's.

But I just saw your link and it's totally different than this.

I guess I a butt man because I really like the rear end on the Chrysler. Looks like a cross between an Infiniti FX and a Chrysler Crossfire.

I to willl have to clean my contacts as this car does not look like a MO at all. With Chrysler up for sale I wonder how this might effect the car company, would not want to get stuck with an orphan

I got to ask if you guys are looking at that black box car photo that is half covered in shrouds? That one does indeed resemble a Jeep. Have you clicked on my link? Believe me this looks nothing like a Jeep.

Thanks for the link, but to me it looks like a soup up sedan and I personally think we are comparing apples to oranges

That thing looks more like the (cramped) FX!

Hard to say, it looked big on the outside, much longer nose than the MO. They kept us at bay and placed the car on a red carpet and advised us we could not cross the line and step on the carpet. Closest I could get was maybe 8-10 feet away. They had guards and all that to make sure we did not cross the line. I can tell you the back end looked like a sports car instead of some today that look like a freakin mini van. One more thing, they show some sky-lights on these photos. The one I saw had no sky lights and a different hood. They are targeting Mo owners based on all the Mo's in the parking lot for this study.

Not sure what this will mean for Chrysler and its future. It's on the block, for sale by owner.

Yeah that's the one they paid me and the wife 150 bones each to evaluate.
Disappointed that it is still what they call a "concept car". It was quite impressive in person and if they wish to get back in the game, they need to get something like that in production and not have it as a think tank concept.
