info:
2007 murano with intell key

The car will not remote start unless i place a non chip key in the ignition along with the bypass box. I have the 556u bypass and there is a valet key in the box but the car also needs a key in the ignition for the car to start. If i take the key i n the igntion out and press the remote the car will crank over stop a few secs and try again for a total of 3 times. The engine willl not start at all, but if i leave the key with out the chip in the ignition it will start with the first crank. Did the installer miss a wire or switch some wires araound. I had ciruit city install the alarm. The guy didn't know too much about the murano and intell key. Any help will be appreciate cause i plan on taking the car back to him with some information from and let him refix it.

My question is does anyone who owns a murano have this problem or does your car start witout a extra key in the ignition.

My Valet key was used in the install

I also have the valet key in the 556uw bypass immobilizer and than I need a extra key in the ignition also.

I would check where they got the tach signal from. I was having similar symptoms (crank 3 times then shut down) when I first had my remote start installed because the tach signal was coming from an injector originally. I switched it over to a injector coil tach wire, and have had no problems since.

edit note: I have the bypass box w/ valet key as well.

does anyone know if we can cut off or file down the key section of the valet key? just in case the vehicle was to be stolen...this way the perp couldnt use that key to start the truck

i'm going to ask the circuit city installer about the tech and how he hooked up the starter ignition wires.

the only strange thing is the remote start will crank and turn the engine over with a regular walmart key.

I asked the guy at circuit city and they said they did not use the tech wire for the signal. Do you need to use the rpm signal for the car to work correctly or a voltage signal from a different source is strong enough for the remote start?
