New Python 571XP Remote Starter - Click HERE for Original Thread
biggun
Finally got my remote starter installed in the MO. I ended up getting the Python 571 XP, which is the same as the Viper 571 XV - both made by DEI.

I got it installed at Circuit City.

ADVISE: SHOP AROUND - I went to two different CC, which quoted me different prices $417 versus $510. Yes, that is not a typo. Apparently the roadshop at CC is kind of independent, so they may charge different prices. I asked the other CC to match price and they said that they couldn't. I ended up going to the cheaper one that knew exactly what they were doing - they had to answer my 101 questions. The other CC I was actually a little sceptically of.

Anyway the features:

- Remote start, lock, unlock with confirmation of command on remote with light and beep.
- When I lock the doors the windows will roll up if they are down.
- I can roll down windows as well.
- Can keep running, remove key to jump in store.
- Can program it to start every 3 hours (great for those of you in the Far North Country with deep freezing issues.

Remote looks like this:

Overall, I am very pleased with this product and CC, which was not a minute to soon with this cold weather.

Grip - I know, move to Florida. :D

Nice setup!

Is this what they call a 2-way remote? I got my MO stolen before Christmas because of the old remote start system (2004) where they used the valet key to bypass the security system. I will install a security system on the new one but I want to be damn sure that it won't help the bad guys get away with my new MO!

I wasn't concerned enough to spend the extra $50. CC used my valet key.

If you are concerned of it getting stolen again than you can go with two options:

1. grind the key, so no one can use it.
2. have it installed with the XK07 - Immobilizer Bypass

It allows you to have the remote start without using the key and it should be only $50-$60 more in price (approx. $100 retail for unit) versus what the installer uses.

Also, CC removes the remote starter for free if I sell my Mo and decide to install in another car.
