Greetings!
It appears that I may becoming the Pain in the &(*#$ of this board --
SORRY!!
3 weeks ago I took my vehicle in to the dealer (2007 SL AWD) with a TPM light going on.
When I left the dealer -- it was off (probably reset) -- and it came on again within one drive.
They told me it was probably the cold weather (in Chicago) and to hold off coming back until it warms up and the snow diminishes a bit.
Today, as I was cleaning my driveway from yet another snow fall I noticed that the air cap on the front right tire is missing -- could this be the culprit causing the TPM light to come on. When I look at the maintenance screen in my vehicle -- it is showing 1 tire not registering (it is the final register in the list of 4 -- not sure if that correlates with the front right).
I wasn't all too thrilled with the service I got at the dealership -- and now I'm starting to think -- did these guys even check anything at all ????
Any suggestion will be appreciated -- I love this website -- all fellow MURANO-ITES truly are GREAT!!
Thanks a miilion!! |

| Dealerships... unbelieveable poor service... if it was due to the cold weather than the tire needed more air. I kinds of doubt it. Did you check the tire pressure in all 4 tires? |

| Yes -- the pressure is fine -- just the 1 cap is missing and 1 tire is not registering in the TPM thus I get the (!) on my panel. |

| I read a while back that the little metal end caps acted as antennas for the RF transmitter sensors. I thought it was crazy talk, but it might actually be true! Maybe you can try switching caps from another tire (that you know the location of on the your TPMS monitor) to see if it brings the capless tire sensor back to life. |

The cap is acting as a secondary seal. On mY Mo it did not matter if the caps were on or off the TPMS works great. Maybe things are different.
Try a bit of soapy water on the open end of the stem. See any bubbles? |
