I bought my 04 over a year ago. It has never driven straight. I've had 2 alignment tests and the car is 100%. We tried rotating the tires in all different ways. It has helped a bit, but still veers.
Is my only solution to replace the tires. They've got good life left. There are no obvious sites of balding or uneven wear, but they are obviously not truly round.
Any ideas? |

The dealer aligned it. Actually, no changes were made because it was aligned properly. They swapped the 2 front tires, then the rear right with the front left. Made a minor difference. The car pulls to the right.
There are a few threads on this topic. rather extensive threads. Seems I should be demanding more from the dealer. Thing is, I bought the car used from a dealer too far away.
Is there a test to check the tires for roundness. The car doesn't shake so the tires are probably balanced, although I could give that a try.
There is also a TSB 03065A (steering wheel alignment changes).
Time to re-raise this. It's been a while since the alignment.
Another post said replacing the out of round tire fixed it,but I don't want 1 tire different from the rest. |

phishfan-
It is possible your MO may have been in an accident. Hopefully that is not the case, but next time you have it in for service have them take a look at the underside for any tell-tale evidence.

As I drove my Mo home from the shop today....
I was so happy to actually feel the steering after driving a crown vic 3 days. Lord knows, that thing was driving ME crazy.
My Mo has always seemed like it wanted to go right, but, as in other threads in many other forums I have been on, they mention the crown of the road. Mo is ALWAYS in the far left lane which is always sloping right for water drainage. I really don't feel it on back roads, unless they slope. Any car I have had that was a great steering vehicle always wanted to go right due to the crown; it's even more pronounced going very slow. |
