I've had my 07 MO S w/ AWD for just about 41 days and the paint on the steering wheel is coming off..... Heck, I assumed the steering wheel cover was molded in the color, not lightly painted...
Anyone else have this issue? I fully intend to put this in the dealer's lap and let them replace it as a new car shouldn't have this problem this fast.

Paint? What part of the steering wheel are you referring to?

The main center part, the airbag cover that has the silver Nissan logo on it. I thought it was just dirty, but when i tried to clean it with a damp cloth I noticed its actually paint thats come off and I can see the translucentesque white plastic underneath....
Kinda disheartening..... |

Interesting. I thought the color was molded in.
The dealer should be able to replace the cosmetically-defective cover under warranty.

I also have paint chipped on the middle of the steering wheel.
I never thought of taking it to the dealer because I thought it may have been my fault.
Well, not my fault really. I thought the person who installed my alarm may have been careless and scratched it with a tool or something. Those are the chances you take when you let people do work on your car.
It is really thin paint there. |
