I received many e-Mails asking me to detail how the mute box gets installed so I'll answer here for all. First of all, this particular model only works with the Bose sound system and any phone car kit that is equiped with a ground mute signal wire.
Steps to install:
1. Take the radio unit out (4 screws)
2. Remove the 2 clips sitting side by side at the top of the radio unit.
3. Clip the 2 male clips from the mute box in the back of the radio unit.
4. Clip the 2 harness clips from the MO harness into the remaining 2 mute box female clips.
5. Connect the car phone kit ground mute signal to the mute box (M)
6. Cut the wire going to the speaker. This is the unbalance output. Its volume is usually controlled by the phone kit keypad. The mute box has been designed to accept an unbalanced output. Respect the polarities. I opened the speaker box to make sure what wire was the POS (+) and NEG (-).
7. Test everything
8. Wrap the mute box and harness in foam to avoid rattles. I pushed the harness down under the radio and succeded in fitting the mute box behind the radio. It is cramped but it fits.
You're all set. It takes 15 minutes or less. To have more info or to order one using a Paypal account, please contact Nicolas at omnitek@bellnet.ca

| Depending on the age of your passengers, sometimes a MP3 player will do the trick or if they are much older you can also try driving at 120. This usually keeps them very quiet. |
