I have a 2004 SE AWD with just 30K miles that's just coming to the end of its bumper to bumper warranty.
The "plastic" engine appearance cover has a crack that starts at one of the mounting holes and goes half way across the cover.
I have asked the dealer to replace it under warranty, but I have gotten the old:" we'll have to see 'cause thats a part that really shouldn't fail under normal use" ploy.
Prior to having them look at it this Thursday(3/8), I'd like to find out if there is anyone else out there in MO land who has experienced a similar failure.
Any info would be appreciated. |

I would be very surprised if the dealer agrees to replace the 3-year old engine cover under warranty.
Have you ever had engine work done at the dealer? If so, you might want to claim the cover was improperly re-installed.
For reference, the engine cover (w/o Nissan logo) has an MSRP of $156.87
