I decided to try out the cruise control for the first time this morning to see how it works..i was kinda let down
When i was trying to accelerate using the steering wheel buttons, the throttle seemed to go up 2 mph then stop..then go up another 2 mph then stop again..kinda making for a jerky ride...is this normal or have other MO owners experienced this same effect? |

| I think it is intended to work that way, holding it down would not add for consistent increase in speed. It goes up 2 MPH with every click. You adjust your speed with the accelerator. I could be wrong, but my Dodge Intrepid worked the same way. |

| As I recall every press up of the accel button will increase speed by 1MPH. So when I need to increase speed by 5MPH I just hit the button 5 times. |

Thanks for the replies...yeah that makes alot of sense now
Overall, i like the MO's cruise control, it was just this one thing that i was stuck on |

Same way any other car I've had behaves with cruise control. Certainly not that smooth of an acceleration if you hold it down, not to mention it's delayed.
But then again, it's not meant to be your throttle. It's meant to maintain a constant speed, not make significant changes. |

| I particularly enjoy the two light status of the MO's CC. In other cars you could never know for sure if the CC was engaged without feeling the gas pedal. Perhaps they added it due to the electronic throttle. |

I like the dual light as well, but I do agree that they seem a little bright. They don't dim with the rest of the lights. |

C-
The cruise control lights are the same type of lights, on the same circuit, as your typical "idiot lights" and therefore can not be dimmed. I have a 2005 and and I do find find the brightness of the CC lamps to be a distraction.

| I never found them too bright but if they are too bright for you perhaps you could open up the dash and place something between the bulbs and the cover to help reduce brightness. |

Hi,
It works like that. Press lever once speed will increase by 1.8 mph if I remember correctly. If you want to accelerate continuously push ever up and keep it pushed until you reach desired speed then release. That what it says in manual and thats exactly how it works.
I tried.

| Once my cruise control is on (say I have it set at 65), I just unset it, go faster and just hit the set button again at the new speed. Alot smoother. |

| I have always just held the acc switch until it gets to the speed I want...ie start at 60 hold until 70. |

| I like to find the sweet spot with the gas pedal before turning off the CC to avoid that sudden "off the gas pedal feel"... it hard in the MO due to the electronic throttle. In a "normal" setup I would be able to just feel it on the gas pedal. |
