Yes, its true..there are still a**holes out there
Recently, someone spit on my MO's hood and being that it was in the winter month's (and also that i didn't notice it right away) i didn't get a chance to wash it off for a week or so.
Over that time, i guess the heat produced from the engine burned the spit into the paint, and now there is a smudge that remains there that didn't come off when i waxed that one spot (vigorously i might add)...
I do have the paint protection plan from nissan, but i don't want to take it to them so quickly because i don't want them to paint it and then have it not match the rest of my paint...
Do anyone have any suggestions as to what i should do? |

The stain is probably affecting only the clearcoat and not the paint. A good compound will do the trick. I like the 3M 5928 finishing compound for this kind of light duty job, but even Mother's Scratch Remover compound will probably do the job.
Cleaning wax are often not abrasive enough to go through the damaged layer. |

| I have had the same problem , but my stains come from an insect or lizard S**t of some sort , at first i tried to remove it with compound and polishes , it wouldn't work the S**t would come off but a yellow stain would remain and nothing would get it off , strangely one day i noticed it was gone , this happens regularly but i don't get fustrated anymore, by whatever miracle a week or two after the remaining stain fades away and eventually dissapears , so before rushing to the paint shop i suggest waiting a little . |

Out of curiosity, why did someone spit on your MO? Are you a Giants fan in Eagle land? Did you have a Philadelphia Flyers sticker on your bumper? :2:

Did you break up with your girlfriend? Is so, it may not be spit and something more like acid, which would account for the "eating away" part. |

Nah, if it was a Giants fan's car in Eagle land, all that would be left of the car would be spit, no MO, lol. |

No no..i'm definitely always an eagles fan no matter how much they disappoint me every year
And to answer your question -- i have no idea, i can't figure out who it was either because it was done in my parking lot most likely |

| In Philly terminology: I'm still wondering why someone would hock a loogie on your car anyhow. |
