2007 Leaking - Click HERE for Original Thread
WhosThatGirl
We just bought our brand new 2007 Murano about 3 weeks ago. Took it through the "no touch" car wash for the first time today, and 1/2 way through the wash, my kid stars yelling water is coming in his window. I look back and the passanger rear window is leaking water. I check, the and the window is up tight.. safety locks are on and the kids cant put windows up/down. About the same time I realize that window is leaking, my head starts getting wet... my sunroof was also leaking.

Needless to say, we ended up with a wet car :( I pulled over after the carwash and dried off the seat and door on the back passenger side, then cranked my heat in hopes of drying out the top where th sunroof leaked.

My husbands calling the dealer today to get it in so they can look at it.... I'm so mad though :( I Had a bad feeling about buying Nissan.. I am a huge Audi fan and was determined to stick with Audi or Volvo, but my husband fell in love with the Murano, and it had ALL the same features of the volvo i was looking at, so we went with the Murano. It is a super nice car.... but im worried about quality seeing how its leaking ALREADY :(

I think you got a bad apple. I don't have any problems with any leaks, or anything extra ordinary with my MO, and believe me, I am not a Nissan fan either but still would not touch an Audi with a 10 foot pole. Volvo's are also just a reputation. They are not that perfect car they used to be. In fact there are no perfect cars out there anymore.....:o

Although I remember reading about two or three problems with leaking sunroofs, I do not recall reading anything about leaking windows.

Is it possible the window was not completely up when you engaged the Window Lock button? The Window Lock button disengages all buttons that operate the rear windows, so if it was slightly down you would be unable to close it completely from the driver-side switch if the Lock was engaged. It would appear as if it were up when in fact it wouldn't be. It's just a long shot but one worth looking in to.

Good luck.

I have a 2007 and took it through a "no touch" carwash before (great for getting salt off the car without all the scratches from a normal carwash) and i have had no problems with leaks...

Maybe, although i doubt it, the water pressure from that specific carwash is too high? I doubt it but you never know

That is one thing I was thinking (back window maybe not fully up)... but the sunroof I am positive was closed.

Prior to the murano, I had an 01 Audi a4 Quattro Turbo... I LOVED it.. best car i've ever owned. It did have a few problems but mostly just maintaince things. With 3 kids in carseats though we just outgrew it. But It was a really great car. It was pretty expensive to maintain though.

I am not saying they are bad cars. They are great cars as long as you have the money to keep them running. In fact, I used to own a 1957 DKw, an older generation Audi which was so much ahead of its time with its front wheel drive and semi automatic transmission. The best car I ever owned in my life!

My opinion of Audi's changed when I started working at a Junk yard that specialized in European cars. That is where I learned more than I should have about Audis, Volvos, MBZ, Jaguars, etc.....:2:

Id be willing to bet the sunroof drain hole was plugged and it just looked like it was coming in the rear window but it was actually running out of the top of the headliner right there and coming down the window
