Hey everyone i'am new to the murano forum and i just wanted to get your guys input on some stuff my past few cars have been a wrx and a eclipse gsx so ive been use to being able to mod them in just about every way possible i noticed after i bought my murano there isnt much out on the market right now for them so in time do you think the aftermarket parts will start coming out or do you think the murano really wasn't built to have performance mods such as turbo supercharger things in that nature well thanks and let me know what every1 thinks!

Holy cow, that is one long sentence! Ran out of breath reading it with no breaks. Maybeyoushouldremovesomespacestomakeitshorter! :D

No, the Murano really wasn't designed to be tricked out. Not performance-wise, anyway. I mean, you can take a look at Gripper's MO, and it certainly has a lot of modifications, but more cosmetic than anything.

If you do some reading on this forum a bit, one of the main concerns for performance tuning is not stressing out the CVT. As a relatively new technology (well, at this size and power capacity) it's just not a good idea to overly stress it. Not to mention that the Murano is designed to be a comfortable, spacious (somewhat sporty) people-hauler, not an aggressive high-performance Rice-Mobile.

That's my opinion, anyway.

Lol sorry about the long sentence. Anyways i kinda figured that i was just use to something a lil quick but i guess having some big wheels and tv's can make up for it. Thanks for your input

slmurano04-

Man did you buy the wrong car. The MO has been out since 2003 and no one is marketing any serious performance mods for it. That says something right there.

By the way, I found these _ , . . , , . , , . , , _rolling around the bottom of your post. They must have dropped out during the trip through the internet.

The engine is also a pretty good performer as it is. You might like to go the other way and consider investigating converting the Mo so it is a flex fuel vehicle. You will garner lots of attention, Have a very intense but doable project. Just a thought.

Support you local Farmer you can even buy or build a wonderful ultra small semi automatic still. Pour in the grain pour out the Alcohol. a couple of little computer boxes are available for the injector and ignition timing automatic adjustment etc. If you go the still route you fuel cost wil be less than a buck a gallon even amortizing the cost of equipment. Just think less than a nickle a mile.

If I had just more time and a better right arm..........

I'm in the same boat as you sl. My last 2 cars were BMW M3's and before that a Honda Prelude. I ditched the M and got my 06 Murano SL back in December. I've been rather disappointed with the aftermarket accessories for the Murano. It;s not that I want it to be a race car, but it's nice to have a unique vehicle. Overall it is allot more comfortable and definitely more spacious!!!

I have noticed myself that in the past there haven't been many aftermarket accessories or upgrades for the MO, I've owned mine for 4 years and now I would like to do some exterior cosmetic upgrades.

I believe the reason there hasn't been many aftermarket choices for the MO is because the MO (when brand new) really isn't an inexpensive vehicle, therefore the individuals that bought the MO's were not interested in those sort of things.

Now since the MO has been out for 4 years the 03-05 model year is very affordable and a lot of younger inividuals are able to obtain them; I feel they are the one's looking to take the time with aftermarket upgrades. (That's just my speculation)

What do you mean, no aftermarket accessories! How about them portholes on ebay....
slmurano04
YEAH!!! That has to add like 40 horse lol

Yeah i def like the room and the ride of the murano compared to the other cars i owned. And like you said i'am not trying to build a racer just a lil more pick up would be nice to it.
