2 audio questions... - Click HERE for Original Thread

OK. I just picked up my new (used) 2003 SL today. Right off the bat, I am getting poor radio reception. I can barely p/u stations that usually have great range. I haven't checked the antenna connections yet, but has anyone else experienced this problem?

My other question is 2 fold. I have an mp3 player (not ipod). The easy way to route that audio through the bose system is through one of those tape-mabobbers that plugs in. But, it just gets ejected. ????

... the second fold. Any suggestions on running an aux cable from the back of the stock radio? Does SL bose radio support an aux cable to plug into my mp3 player.

Thanks,

-Jessica

The Antenna grounding and securing neut may be loose. There are posts tha cover that subject. A number of post deal with the Aux audion inputs. After you read some of the posts then come back ans post more question and we can help you a bit better. Some members may be able tohelp you right now I don't knnow.

Radio reception is NOT good in the MO, generally speaking. Sounds like yours is a bigger problem, though. There were a few service bulletins about it, particularly on the 03 if I remember correctly. I'd check out NissanHelp.com and search those bulletins.

Until recently I was using the tape adapter without any problems. It should NOT spit the tape back out. Do you have another "real" cassette that you could try? If it spits that one out as well, then you certainly have a problem.

For plugging in your MP3 player, definitely do some searches in the Audio section of the forum. There are a lot of posts about different ways to do it. I have the Nissan Ipod adapter, which works great, but obviously is specifically designed for Ipods so that won't help you...

i drive 05 murano

normal cassette tape works though.

Very strange. Mine is a simple cheap-o $10 tape adapter. I had to change the cord to make sure it came out the correct side, but I haven't had any problems at all with it in either my car or my wife's.

Might be worth a try, but being that you live in Florida it may not help.

When my tape adapter is cold, it gets popped out. I warm it up via the heater and stays put/works fine. Mine is a Maxwell brand.

I don't get this problem in the summer.

thank you all for validating my problems. i will check out the service bulletins. i will give the tape adapter another try.. i'll make sure it's warm enough inside :)

as far as the wiring goes, i guess my main question was does the MO have auxiliary options? i mean, can i have someone run a wire from the back of the radio to the front for my mp3 player or is it just not that simple. don't any murano factory radios come with aux input?
