New '04 MO owner with ?'s about SAT - Click HERE for Original Thread
volster1
I just purchased an '04 MO SL with Bose radio (and no fact. pre-wire for SAT) and was wondering what all I needed to do to put in a Sirius SAT in. I had one in my other car and loved it and really wanted to use the radio interface to go with a new one. Should I just buy some of the hardware and take it to a place and have them do it? If so, what all do I need to get? (I am a complete tech idiot so be sure to keep that in mind).

Thanks in advance for any help!

I believe you just need the Pac-nis2 unit. Which plugs into the back of the headunit and has 2 inputs for rca units.

Joe,

The install of the factory receiver is very simple. I purchased the factory Sirius receiver and an antenna. The receiver plugs in behind the rear seat (about the middle) and you'll need to run the wire from the antenna to the unit. The unit is secured with tape to the body. The Nissan instructions to install are on Grubbs website.

There are also instructions on this site to perform the "hidden antenna" install. Its painless, and hides the antenna in the hatch (no cutting needed). I think the whole install took me less than 45 minutes.

I purchased my receiver from someone on this site, and the antenna online, total out of pocket was $125 or so.

Thanks Mike.
I'm still a little uncertain if I want to get into the nuts and bolts of things. I don't want to screw anything up.
Did you have your MO pre-wired? If so, good for you. If not, how did you route your wires?
Do you know Grubbs site so I can view it?
I guess if I have a diagram or what not, that will better help me to know what I am about to get myself into.
For sure I like the part about the hidden ant....that will be the way I go, no doubt about it.

Thanks again!

The 2004 Muranos are factory pre-wired. You should have the "Sat" button on your radio, and the harness is tucked behind the rear seat (taped to the wires that are there for other things)

Here's the Grubbs Murano Audio page: http://www.grubbsperformance.com/Me...ode=MuranoAudio

The install instructions are at: http://secure.grubbs.com/sat_install/Murano.pdf

The receivers occasionally pop up on the classifieds here on the site.

Take a look around. Tons of help available if you simply look.

There is a sticky in this forum entitled "SAT: How to install and other SAT tips"

A wealth of information is there.

There is another sticky about the hidden antenna install.
Ditto.

Hi. I also have absolutely no technical skills. I had XM installed today. Keep in mind my car was prewired so your car would require an extra step. It cost me $82 which included 6% sales tax. To me so worth it.
