I have been noticing that for the past year or so. I think the MDX and that other Acura SUV favor the Murano now and the Mazda Cx's |

I bought my '06 Murano in September. During my research, I came upon the 06 Tribeca. I test drove one and was so disappointed with the vehicle, I went straight to the Nissan dealer afterwards and walked out the door with a Murano.
While the Tribeca looks ok on the inside the entire vehicle feels cheaply made. The transmission seemed to choke or pause when i jammed on the steering wheel. I almost laughed out loud when this happened because the salesman had just finished telling me how the subaru transmission was superior to nissan's.
I agree the '08 has much improved looks, but it wouldn't entice me away from my MO. |

Yeah, the Hyundai Santa Fe is almost exactly like it, except I like the Santa Fe's tail lines more.

I can understand the next year's model coming out towards the end of the year, like November, but when you have it available in June? Come on, that should be a 2007 model.
Kind of the opposite of the software industry, huh? Windows 95 comes out at the VERY END of 1995. SQL Server 2000 came out in 2001, if I remember correctly... :rolleyes: |

i noticed that also, the rear 3/4 pics reminded me alot of the new santa fe's. honestly i think this tribeca looks worse than the outgoing one. at least the wing grill was very original and this new one is rediculously generic and trucky looking. apparently the new tribeca is loosing it's B9 prefix and also recieving a larger more powerful engine.
speaking of tribeca's, i happened to drive up and park beside one as the owner was leaving her vehicle. she just looked at the Mo and i could see it in her face that she thought it was much better then what she was driving.
on the other hand, the interior of the subaru is absolutely incredible, especially compared to the crap they are comming out with lately(see the new wrx). although the material used are very cheep, the dash IMO is pure eye candy and flows sooo nicely.
we to drove a tribeca when they were first released. the only thing it had going for it was the LOOKS of the interior and the AWD system. otherwise, it felt heavy and underpowerd. and the lack of HID's and led tail lights on a car of this price is just unimpressive. |

| I'm with nissanlove. While no fan of the original Tribeca, the new one is worse. Very generic front end now, almost like an old Chrysler minivan. At least they dropped "B9" from the name. |

Reminds me a bit of the Ford Edge.
Wow, they bumped the horses way up to 256 and a 3.6L engine.
The outgoing vehicle was a 3.0L 245 horsepower engine with 215 pound-feet of torque. Not much of a jump considering the reports that the current vehicle was underpowered.

Midrange power gets a much larger boost, as seen in the torque figures. And the midrange is where this engine needed a boost. The 3.0's power peak is at 6,600, and how often are you going to wind a people hauler's engine that high?
The new engine also runs on regular. The 3.0 reguired premium. |

One thing that occurs to me is that with both the Murano and the Tribeca my intial impression of the exterior styling was not good.
But over time I have come to see the Murano as an exceptionally well done design, the way the various lines and shapes come together.
The same has not happened with the Tribeca. |
