| I'm considering having my rims painted either a light black/gray or gunmetal to go along with the "all black" theme i have going so far. I was thinking about buying new rims but i don't want to have to worry about size, offsets, tires, extra money, and everything else. How do you think gunmetal rims would look on a black 2007 MO?? |

| If I were you, I would have my current OEM wheels painted gunmetal. Many people who go with the larger wheels will admit to the following. Personally I experienced a drastic reduction of ride quality when I wen't from 16'' to 18'' rims on my Maxima. I had to dodge every pothole, slow down for every bump, and feel every crack on the street. I bent my rims, popped my tires, and easily scraped up the rims as well. Eventually I switched back to my stock sixteens (wow what a difference). Now that I have my Mo, I would never ever think of changing my wheel size. An SUV is made to conquer little obstacles such as potholes, bumps, etc. Today I accidentally ran over a portion of the curb as I was pulling into a shopping center with no problem . I would have surely bent my rim, and popped my tire if I had 22'' wheels. Through my experience, I will no longer sacrifice quality/saftey for looks!! I almost forgot to mention that your speedometer will be off as well, in addition to a drop in gas mileage with larger wheels. |

SExyMurano,
I can agree with you on that too...on my WRX i went from 16" to 18" and at 80 mph my steering wheel was vibrating like no other.. Personally, i do not mind the MO's wheels at all..it is one of the few vehicles that i actually approve of the stock wheels on. If i did paint them, it wouldn't be until summer and picking out the color would be difficult. Too dark and there is too much contrast with the tire when it becomes dirty -- too light and it just looks like brake dust. |

| Those wheels look good..its a tough decision cause i don't want to have to repaint them if i don't like them..and i'm going to have them on the MO for many years to come.. |

| Those wheels are off 03,04,05 SE, in my opinion the newer wheels off the 07 look better. It'll be a lot cheaper if you get your's professionally painted versus buying a new set. The shipping cost form Japan on top of the $430 will will cost you a pretty penny. I'm thinking you can possibly have your wheels powder coated for extra paint durability. |

| Sorry for the misunderstanding -- I am not looking to purchase those wheels....i would just have mine painted like they were |

I only added the price as some added info. You said gunmetal painted stock wheels and I remember seeing them on the auction, so I figured it would be nice to see what they looked like painted.
And in Japan, this is the stock wheel on the 07's too. There isn't a SE SL or whatever here.. only 2.5 FF , 3.5 FF and 3.5AWD. Same wheels on all of em. You can upgrade to the Nismo or Impul wheels I suppose but at an extreme price. |

If you prep the wheels right, the paint can be very durable. If I were you though I would have them powder coated and save yourself the worries of having them chip/peel. The black on black would look nice, but gunmetal isn't exactly black. I think a glossy BLACK would look better. Maybe with some red lug nuts.. |

hmm..that sounds awesome actually, especially the red lugs
but...i just don't exactly want black wheels cause when the tires lose their shine or get dirty, the different in the wheel and the tire and the car will look kinda bad..atleast in my opinion |

That's why you clearcoat the wheels :D Red lugs on a black on black would offset the scheme in a nice way. |

Are your referring to the red lug nuts? If so, I would'nt be too crazy about red lug nuts unless your Mo was red as well. Maybe red calipers would give it a sportier look along with the black rims. |

DO IT!!!!
I would have them powder coated not painted. Powder coating is much more durable than paint on wheels. You might even have them sandblasted first, not sure if you need to though. I know for a fact powder coating is cheaper than painting and will look awesome. Especially black! |

Powder coating FTW! If you have any plans on keeping the wheels I would look into it. Also, red lug nuts on a black on black car would be sick, not tacky (but that's in my opinion). Let me try to find some pics..
Some of these aren't the greatest but you get the idea..
You get the point. Sorry they are all hondas though, it's a common tuner thing. Even blue looks nice! |
