| I was driving to work today, pulled away from a full stop at a 4 way stop and my left front brake wouldn't fully release. I pulled off the road safely, but the brake is still semi-stuck and I'm having it towed to the dealer on a flatbed. Waiting for it to arrive. I can pull ahead if I try but the brake seems to pulse slowly and definitely drags. If I try to accelerate, I can feel and see the rpm's higher than usual as it struggles. It smells pretty bad when I try to drive in this condition. I tried restarting the car, reversing a little, turning vdc off, nada. more later. |

| Dealer replaced worn brake pads after not noticing anything else wrong, called me today to say they then tried moving the vehicle and horrible noises, etc. Said the transfer case "exploded" and have one on order scheduled for Monday. Voted in the transfer case poll. Should be covered under drivetrain warranty since the primary warranty is expired. |

...the transfer case "exploded"...
Wow...From your description I would have never guessed it to be a trans problem. |

It only confirms my opinion about Nissan certified technicians.........the certification is not worth the paper it is written on..... |

Idiots! The worn brake pads were a symptom, not the problem. That's like bringing your MO in for an oil leak and the mechanics "fixing" the problem by just adding oil.

| well, worn brakepads are worn brakepads, if they need to be replaced they still need to be replaced, so I let them, and work on the rotor since I have had brake judder for months when braking hard. I also had them replace the tires and take care of 3 recall issues. Sounds like the busted transfer case had intermittant symptoms, which they discovered after they were finished with the other work. If you can drive it into the bay without symptoms but not out without symptoms, I'd call that intermittant, and I know how dealers love to only fix problems they can reproduce. |
