Hey there,
I picked up a used 2006 Murano S this past weekend. I didn't realize that the audio options were so incredibly limited. Has anyone modified their S or has recommendations?
After reading through the forum posts, I see that the head unit pretty much has to stay as is. Is that the case? Can I replace the head unit with the one offered in the SE or SL touring packages? What about speakers, amps?
I apologize if this has been written about before. I searched as best I could throughout the forum
Thanks,

I put new speakers and a speaker amp in my 07. Front doors have a plastic thing on them that didnt fit my speakers (too deep) so i had to cut it a bit.. other than that install was easy did it my slef in about 2-3 hours. Sounds MUCH better :)
Edit: also installed sirius sat radio my self (very easy) and thing i got at best buy that will play my ipod also easy =) |

Very cool. I may go that path. Now, with yours, did you have the radio that came with the satellite option? And bose option? I've been a sirius subscriber for a couple of years and would like to have that option (besides buying a portable unit). |

| No bose, But if you search around you can see how to find the wire that the factor sat equipment will plug into. theres a plug behind the back drivers side seat, let me know if you cant find the post ill take pics for you. You can buy all the stuff you need on ebay for aprox 200 bucks i think.. just search for murano sirius. I believe all 07 are prewired for sat radio. I got the lowest grade stereo and i had the prewire. The dealership told me that i was not prewired though. They had no idea what they were talking about so take a look for your self. |

| Coming this June it won't matter whether you like Sirius or XM they are combining as one. Sounds like we will be able to get the best of both worlds. |

Excellent information...thanks! Do you know (or does anyone know) if this is true for the 2006 stock stereo as well? Does anyone have a photo? |
