Once every few times (1 on 5) that I start the MO, the display indicates either NO IPOD or there is nothing displayed and the buttons do not work (SEEK/CAT).
Every times, I will find my iPod (nano 8 gb) with a black screen. I have to reset it using the center and up buttons and it restarts after a few seconds. It seems to happen when I shut down the engine.
The OEM Nissan interface cable is properly grounded and the iPod firmware is up to date. Anyone else experiencing the same problem or having a clue? It is just annoying because it never happens while on the road. Just when I start the engine.

I have noticed that occasionally my ipod (5th gen 60g) will have a depleted battery if it sat in my car for a period of time. Like the battery power is still being drained, even though it should have shut down when the car was turned off. Certainly doesn't happen every time, but it does happen once in a while (about 6 times in the last 3 months, but I don't always leave my ipod in my car overnight)
When that happens, it sometimes takes a while for the Nissan interface to recognize the ipod, and from what I gather it's because the battery is so low that it needs to trickle charge a bit before it can actually run. |

Corin, it seems to be a different problem because my battery is full charge when I reset the iPod. It looks more like if the head unit shuting down when the key is turned off was interrupting some comm transfer with the iPod, enough to make it go bananas.
In your case, check the connections and the ground. Make sure everything is solid since it is an intermittent problem. |

| They have yet to really get this thing sorted out. They want to sell cars so badly that Goshen rushes everything to market to quickly. All his research $ are spend on things to sell not the make things work. I fell that Infinity is the only brand that is getting well sorted out complete items across the board. |
