I currently drive a '05 Nissan Sentra, and I am thinking about getting an '04 or '05 ish Murano. My sentra is paid for, and this will be my first vehicle purchase all by myself, since my mom paid for the Sentra. My first worry was insurance cost since I am 19 and my insurance is already high now. But I shopped around for a few quotes and it seems I can get them lower. The only worry that I really have now is gas prices. When one hears SUV, they first thing you think of is gas. But it looks like the Murano gets gas mileage similar to a regular full size sedan. How much are you guys paying to fill up your Muranos if you don't mind me asking?
My other choices were either an Acura TL or Maxima. |

The Murano is not really an SUV. It's more of a mid-size sedan with additional ground clearance and a hatchback in place of the trunk.
I have an '05 SL AWD with about 17,000 miles on the clock. I get about 20 mpg around town, 24 MPG @ 65 mph, and close to 30 MPG @ 45 mph. The MO can be frugal with the fuel as long as you are light on the gas pedal.

Its a great car to own and I've loved mine. It performed flawlessly in the snow and handles by far the best out of all the SUVs I've driven.
I'm actually selling mine as well, if you're interested email me: pullit@gmail.com. I'm located in MD. |

I have an appointment at about 3:30 tomorrow to drop off my Maxima and pick up my new Murano.
I've had my Max for about 3 1/2 years, and truly did love it. But I do consider the Murano a step upward in both room and comfort. I average about 23 with the Max with highway driving and a little bit of stop light driving - no hard stop and go, and I drive fairly conservatively. I'm hoping I don't take too hard a hit with the Murano. Shouldn't take me too long to know for sure...
At this time tomorrow, there will be a Murano in my garage! :2:
Good luck in your search and decision! |
