Replacing Foglights and Lenses - Click HERE for Original Thread
rumsteve
I just bought a 2003 Murano SE. Both fog light lenses were cracked when I bought it, but the bulbs worked. Now they both don't work.

I know it's probably simple, but I would like some info on replacing the lenses and the bulbs.

Thanks! :D

The lens is sealed so that water and dirt do not touch the lamp. You have to change both foglamp (housing and lamp). You can find cheaper ones on eBay otherwise prepare to spit a good amount of cash at the dealer.

The reason why they stopped working is because water and dirt killed the halogen lamp.

I use 3M (XPEL, ClearBra, etc...) protectors on my own foglamps to protect them and I never had a problem since. Before that, a rock killed one of them and I decided to invest a little to protect them. The foglamps and the radiator are quite exposed to rocks at this height. Think about protecting the radiator too. Nissan dealers love to replace them at $600+ a copy + labor.

At this point, you can also decide to go HID for the fogs. There is a thread with neverburnout (.com) stuff that is guaranteed for life, although I am sure that a cracked lens is not.
