Sounds great but the same old problem still exists. How do you plan to take out the old HU to put this in?
GripperDon
but Mr. A has the great question First you can relocate the current screen like he did. Or do a complete dash redesign to accommodate what is needed from both. If you have access to a fiberglass shop and can also get the finished product covered in leather of matching material it should like you could do everything.

My understanding is that this is not a HU. It gets integrated with the HU, uses the bose system. I guess that the hub will be sitting some where behind the radio and the cables will be brought onto somewhere where they can be easily accessible but kind of hidden.

I am into enquiring abt this and will post more once I have more info on this...

Some one gave me a quote for @1.5k for complete installation with blue tooth integrated ipod and video

I did find about the FIT... I have ordered the hub pro thru Best buy...
So this is what I get - it is costing me @900. I am getting a hub and a bluetooth part from alpine. 500 for the hub (best buy will price match, best buy online shows 599), $200 for the bluetooth part, 150 for installation and rest taxes ...

So there will be some kind of switch where alpine will take over the controls. it will use the factory navigation system as its display.. you can add any video device, can hook your ipod, you should be able to control your ipod thru steering wheel... this is HD ready, you could hook your hd radio when you get it...

well the most important part now is the integration, lets see how bestbuy does it...

Will update in a week or so.. fingers crossed.

Please do let us know how it works for you - I've been holding out for a solution like this, if it works as described.

I ordered the parts from alpine and bestbuy was supposed to install it... the parts came and guys at bb figured our that it lacks and video conversion device and they said it wud have issus with the nav voice guide etc...

It looks like guys at bestbuy are not really confident about the installation..

So i went in and brought a mk6000 blue tooth car kit. It hooks up to the audio unit and uses the car speakers. It also support audio playback thru blue tooth so that resolves the aux input i was looking for.

And I went and ordered the ipod kit from jerseyparts

so lets hope the bb guys can do this with ease ...

Vj,
When do you get everything installed?

I'm interested since I'd definitely add AUX input & BT to the stock system if it works well and is reasonably priced.
mashvk
best buy could not really install the alpine system.. looks like there were not confident..

if u go the alpine route it will cost u @ $1200..

instead i am opted for parrot mk6000 and the ipod interface...gud thing abt parrot is that it gets hooked up to all the speakers and it supports audio streaming profile.. so you cud have a universal blue tooth transmitter hooked to very much any device and hear it thru the parrot system...parrot system allows you to go next, forward etc
i am also installing the ipod interface from jersy parts...

i shoudl be receiving these parts by 13th and i guess i will have them installed @14..
will update..

the mk6000 works fine. best buy hooked 2 speakers and they will hook the remaining 2 this staurday.. i have not played any music yet but the phone conversation is crystal clear both the ways...

The ipod from the jersy parts gets easily hooked excpet that next previous does not work from the steering wheel... I am a little unhappy about it.
