can anyone shed some light on whats going on. when ever i make left turns i hear a scraping sound coming from the left front wheel. it sound like metal grinding. it happens when ever i'm above a certain speed about 15 to 20 mph. as soon as i complete my turn and straighten out the wheel it stops. anyone have any idea whats going on. this has happened before and the dealer was unable to duplicate the noise. but i will be sure to ride with the mechanic next time.

Wiseguy-
I'll take a stab at it. How about the wheel bearing or CV joint on the left side? Those are the usual culprits under the circumstances you describe. However, if that was the case then the dealer should have been able to pick that up right away.
How old and how many miles on your MO?

Check the dust boots on the CV joint. Make sure they are not torn or separated at the folds.
If you cut the wheel all the way to right or left and drive slowly do you hear a clicking or grinding sound?

I haven't noticed any clicking noise only a grinding noise making left turns a pretty go speed. even though at a slow left turn i hear nothing. i'm guessing it might have something to do with the caliper or rotor. can't figure it out. i'm surprised this isn't another common MO problem.

If it only happens at higher speeds then my guess would be a bad wheel bearing. There have been dozens of cases reported here. Do a search and see if the symptoms match yours.

Does this occur when the wheel is turned to the left in any amount or full wheel to the left? I sometimes hear a strange noise if I turn the wheel to the stops.

i have to have pretty go momentum to hear this not so much coming to a stop. I can definitely duplicate this noise every time making left turns at a good speed.

Had the same scraping noise coming from the passenger side, only happens on turns Turned out the splash guard was barely touching the rotor.

something like rotor grinding on metal... |

Have you had any brake jobs done? It is possible brake pad extends over the unfinished area of the rotor and makes the noise during turns.
