Hey Guys
I've decided to change my rims & tires to Asanti A 127's in a 22'x9 size with a hesitation in the tire size , reason for my post being .
I now ave 20 " x 9 with 275/45/20 with an 1.5 ' drop on the springs front and rear , and no problem .
Asanti will custom make the rims for me with 20 x 9 size however they say that they can play with the rims offset a little since they are custom made and will keep front and back in a 22x9 size but will manufacture the front with a 3 " lip and rear with a 4 " lip .
1) does amnyone think that i can push the envelope and go wide with 305/35/22's or should i remain with 285/35/22's .
2) I was also thinking for the look , going with smaller in front 285/35/22,s and wider in the rear 305/35/ 22,s tire sizes for that agressive look ( since the rear will have a 4 " lip ) , but i was told not possible because my Mo is front wheel drive and it will affect the handaling , is there any truth to this ??? , how will it affect the handaling to me it would seem illogical what , difference will it make ?? has anyone done this ??, then again i'm not a tire expert , please help .

The 305's will be 20mm wider. Does it look like your MO can handle that? It sure would look sweet.
I would not worry about the different wheel sizes affecting your handling. That would only come into play if the MO is aggressively driven at it's limits. On the other hand, I would definitely NOT do it if you have AWD. The transfer case would self-destruct in minutes. I also do not think traction control would operate correctly with different sized wheels.
Whatever you decide to do, please share some photos with us.
Good luck.

That's a tough call, they both look good. I like the idea of the two-color spokes on the second wheel. I am just not sure how that would look on your white MO.
Good luck with the mods.
Are there many MOs on the island? Even if there are, I doubt any are as extensively modded as yours.

Yup , that's what's got my attention too , the two tone color scheme , i have seen white vehicules with black rims ( not two tone ) and they looked great , keep in mind that the door frame trimmings are black as well as the roof rack , and i don't have the original grill anymore so there's less chrome on the vehicule so by going with the two tone i am considerably reducing the amount of bling to a more suttle level , basically the chrome that will be left will be the door handles , the interior of the headlights the exhaust tips and the chrome lip of the rim , i think by going with the two tone i will accent both trims , the black and chrome
Yes there are a lot of mo's but mine is the only one of it's kind , there's only two others with mods , one is silver with Axis rims and the other burgandy with side steps :D :D |
