.....but is the CVT the only transmission available on every Murano??

My buddy swears he drove a rental that didn't have cvt....i think he probably just noticed the additional places on the shifter and just assumed it was a normal auto, but he's sticking to a non-cvt. :D
Kris
The answer is yes and no. Yes in USA and Canada. You can get Murano with "normal" auto transmission south of the border - Mexico and South America. I personally have seen one...

yup...def was a murano. hes taking another one on a business trip this week, so hes gonna see if he feels the same thing again.

I told him to leave the mind altering drugs at home this time. hehehe....

It was memorial day weekend, can't blame him.

Maybe it did have a CVT but it wasn't functioning properly because um, its a rental, and people aren't exactly easy on those!

Nah, that can't be the case because according to a used-car dealer that scolba was dealing with, rentals are driven no harder than personal vehicles, and we know that used-car dealers never lie. :16:

LMAO.....yeah really....

After talking with him (beating on him) about this further, he did concede eventually that there COULD have been something wrong with it, but hes still sticking to the shifting story....

The SE model has a "tip-tronic" style of shift that lets you switch between 6 different "ratios". That can make it SEEM like a 6-speed manual-mode automatic. Perhaps that is what confused him?

That's what I was thinking, but then again I'd be amazed if rental companies would be renting out SE models either.

And an FYI, my 05 MO was a former Enterprise rental, and if it were beaten in its former days, I would have never known. My MO has been rock solid with virtually no problems for nearly a year now, with almost 60k on the clock!
