How about these unconfirmed tidbits?
- optional 20" wheels
- 9.3GB hard drive for music
- iPod connectivity kit
- heated front and rear seats
- powered liftgate
- standard traction control and stability control
- push-button start
- standard six-disk CD changer
- the VQ now has 265 ponies
- three models S, SL, LE
- :6: NO third-row seat
- No hybrid, no diesel, no manual transmission, no full-time AWD.

The LE (Luxury Edition?) can only be had with Nissan's infamous AWD?
Very poor marketing on Nissan's part IMO.
I not only don't need AWD, but wouldn't buy Nissan's if I did.....

If you look back on some posts - you'll see that I TOTALLY called this! Look at me? I have a crystal ball! |

I have to admit Nissan surprised me. No third raw! It is a good thing.
Exterior – reminds me Lexus too much. I do believe the original Murano was better….
Grill – very mixed feelings…..
Interior – I do not like black interiors but I think it is more mainstream as I think Homer mentioned…nothing revolutionary….most people will perceive it as an improvement…
However, the CVT is still there! And this is a bad thing…….I will not buy another Nissan unless they get rid of the CVT or repair price will drop to let’s say below $3k……I want 6-speed “classic” auto-tranny!
PS. crash, I give it to you! Yes, you were right. No 3rd raw! I was wrong, I was sure Nissan would do it... |

I can understand that.
After the MO it would be very difficult moving to a compact CUV, no matter how nice it is.
I always get good comments about the limo like seating in the rear of the MO.

| Looks OK. I'm glad I bought a '07. Rear heated seats would be nice, as would the power end gate, I miss that from the Quest. Don't care much for the front end, or the hood. Overall, not too horny over it. |

Some new pic's...click on the "picture" in the article to get the second picture....it confirms the most important aspect of the 2009 Murano debate....which has, and always will be - does it come with a rear wiper.....I'll let you click to keep the suspence up.

| Unless it looks better in person, I don't think I'll be getting this one. I've been waiting and how disappointing. It looks like they took a little from here and a little from there and just slapped different piece parts on the current overall frame. It just doesn't work. The thrill is gone with this new model. I love my 2003. Hmmm. Maybe get a 2007? |

Based on the article above, a diesel will be available along with 11 speakers!, touch screen nav, and 20-inch wheels as options. |

I would have to agree with you, since US consumers haven't really adopted diesel in cars yet. But, you never know. :8: |

The styling is much more aggressive in the front. The back looks more like a Rogue than a Mo. The interior is definitely better. Its all looking good so far. I dont care much for the diesel. I wish they offer a conventional trans as a an option. Everything else is ok.
Thanks

Or Hyundai Santa Fe like. Or VW Touareg like. Or Toyota Highlander like.
I wish they made the styling more original. The front looks fresh (if a bit ugly as its lost the sweeping curves) but the rear is as generic as it gets! It doesn't even have amber lenses for the turn signals to break up the monotony like on the Lexus RX, Hyundai Veracruz, or the Saturn Outlook.
The first gen MO was groundbreaking in that it was very very stylish for its time. The new one, less revoluationary. But Nissan is probably making the right decision businesswise. They will lose sales by not having a third row though. |

I like the new front but I agree the rear is a little generic looking. Overall, my first impression of the car is better than my first impression of the 2003 model. Originally I didn't like the grill or the dashboard pods with the amber lighting. I alway liked the side and back view of the car, especially the tail lights.
I think one will have to see the new car in person to decide if it is an improvement or just a little different. |

The guessing game is over.
The new 2009 MO is pictured in all it's glory on the Nissan website.

After gazing through all the available photos (Hi res, black and white and standard res) of the 09 Murano, I have to say I have mixed feelings. Nissan improved the not so good things from the previous model like the interior, grill, gauge cluster and added a paddle shifter which is great for people who have a hard time getting used to the CVT. However, Nissan just about messed up the rear end of this beautiful vehicle in the new incarnation. Now it looks like a f.....ing Hyundai Veracruz. Why on earth did Nissan let their designers mess it up is beyond my comprehension. I am hoping against all hopes that it looks better in real (as it happened to me with the Rogue). Wish me luck on this one as I may be saying goodbye to Murano next year if it looks as bad.
Thanks

I'll be turning in my 2004 Murano at the end of December. Lease.
Does anyone know when dealers will have the 2009 Murano on the lot?
My 2004 has been a good vehicle. What sold me was the ability to get three triathletes, three road bikes, three wetsuits, and three sets of shoes, shorts, helmets, and luggage into one car. |

All the reports point to Jan 2008. |

| I have read somewhere that the release date is January....I do not expect dealers have the 09 Murano in 2007. |

I did not see paddle shifters in any of the pictures. Surely Nissan would have announced it if it was an available feature. In fact, a manumatic option (even on the SE...errr... LE) doesn't even appear to be on the cards. |

Too me, its not a big loss.
Paddle shifters on a CVT always seemed silly to me (shifting a gearless tranny). The only thing that you gain is something more likely to break or screw up the CVT. |
